Kodydog:
We had a lot of wet slushy snow several weeks B4 Xmas it melted and we got snow a week before the big day. It's gotten down to -2 or so a couple of nights but yesterday and today we are in a warm up, low 40's not doing wonders for the ice fisherman and all the snowmobile trails are closed.

Using the fireplace for the first time this year. Didn't get over 50* today and down to 24* tonight. Burrr!

Here in Central Wisconsin when it gets real cold we avoid the fireplace because of all the heat it siphons out of the room.

Just a short note before we leave town for Christmas with Family:

It's my sincere wish that you all have a Merry Christmas and enjoy celebrating with Family and Friends. Please keep in mind all those that find themselves suffering this Christmas season financially, physically, and mentally, and pray to our lord for the help they so badly need!

General Discussion / Dear Santa
December 20, 2011, 01:47:08 pm
Dear Santa,

I don't want much for Christmas, I just want the person reading this to
be happy. Friends are the fruit cake of life --- some nutty, some soaked
in alcohol, some sweet but mix them together and they're my friends . At
Christmas you always hear people talking about what they want & bought.
This is what I want: I want people who are sick with no cure, to be
cured. I want children with no families to be adopted. I want people to
never have to worry about food, shelter & heat. I want peace on earth,
goodwill and love for everyone!

Mojo:
Did you ever hear back from the company what caused your problem with that awning fabric a couple of months ago?

We plan to travel 3 1/2 hours to spend Christmas eve with my Brother and his family and we plan to stop at my Wife's sisters house to visit for a time also and she also would like to go to Christmas eve mass, and, and, and. I'm beginning to melt down, It's occurred to me that it might be more enjoyable to stay at home in the house watching TV & videos and not come out till the Holiday is over! I'm sorry to say but I'm feeling a bit like Bah Humbug!

General Discussion / Traffic Stop

Subject:  The light turned yellow

The light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection.

The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration, as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup.

As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up..

He took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a holding cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'Follow Me to Sunday-School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk, so naturally....I assumed you had stolen the car."

I have used it often for smaller items/ sales, and I have received several questionable replies but never anything that I considered a serious threat. I would only consider cash sales with no or very little change given, as in my area it's happened that the cash was counterfeit and they where only looking for the good cash they received as change. If you must accept a money order make sure it's a US Postal money order from the post office for the exact amount, as many of the other brands are stolen.

Maybe the "Prayerful One" expects you to have enough  to do the job if you use the wrapper the fabric came in!

General Discussion / Re: Cover Material Help
November 23, 2011, 01:56:34 pm
Chris:
Would one of these fabrics from your favorite supplier (Rockford) work:

General Laminates - 13 oz

RSI 13 oz Vinyl Laminate Fabric

Weatherspan

I'm sure Miami would have similar product, it's often used on Shorestation covers and has fibers imbedded in it as a reinforcement and a wipe clean surface that hold up to sun

General Discussion / Re: Where have all the ragtops gone?
November 22, 2011, 08:08:04 pm
The uni-body has made the roof a necessary integral part of the construction of the car. Even the type of adhesive used to install the windshield is an important factor in the strength/ rigidity of the car. Not that it can't be built but it takes a lot more engineering than just cutting the roof off and installing a rag top! Then comes the liability/ safety factor of building this inherently less safe design.
