Thanks fingers I'll give it a look see as soon as I get back from the fireworks at the "Balloon Rally and glow as well as the Rib fest" at the airport near our house. Yummmm!

Yes the 1245 is a great machine, but presently I'm having trouble with thread tension. The thread buries itself between the discs and binds so tight the thread breaks but when I pull the thread out and replace and readjust I end up set in the same manor and can't duplicate the binding. The change in tension results in a snarl of thread on the underside of the piece being sewn.

General Discussion / Knee lift for Pfaff 1245
July 08, 2011, 01:50:06 pm
I'm looking for a used or less expensive knock off of a knee lift kit for a 1245 Pfaff, anyone have one or know of a source? The Pfaff factory part number for the kit is 91-68 375-70/893.  Maybe I'll be proven wrong but I assume the the genuine factory part will be quite high priced, and not worth it. Thanks in advance.

Somehow the bar that the outer foot attaches to on my Pfaff 1245 got twisted out of alignment and Bob over the phone instructed me how to find the proper screws to loosen and how to realign the bar! I can't begin to tell you how many times Bob has patiently helped repair one of my screw ups, THANKS BOB!

The wise old fishermen

A guy is 75 years  old and loves to fish.

He was sitting in  his boat the other day
when he heard a voice  say,

'Pick me  up.'

He looked around  and couldn't see
anyone.

He thought he was  dreaming when he
heard the voice say again,

'Pick me  up.'

He looked in the  water and there, floating
on the top, was a frog.

The man said,  'Are you talking to me?'

The frog said, 'Yes, I'm talking to  you.'

Pick me up then,  kiss me and I'll turn into
the most beautiful woman you have ever
seen.

I'll make sure that all your friends are
envious and jealous  because I will be your
bride!'

The man looked at the frog for a  short
time, reached over,  picked it up carefully,
and placed it in his front pocket.

The frog  said, 'What, are you nuts?
Didn't you hear what I said? I said kiss
me and I will be your beautiful bride.'

He opened his pocket,  looked at the frog
and said,  'Nah, at my age I'd rather have a
talking frog.'

With  age comes wisdom.

I have a Pfaff 1245 and it's a great machine, but keep in mind the cost of parts and accessories is much higher for the pfaff than say a consew or one of the other machines based on the old 111W155 Singer! The welt feet come to mind as one of the first things you'll find cost hundreds more than the Singer type.

This is great as I consider Bob my supplier of choice since I've had so many positive experiences with both him and his son! He walked me thru the steps of timing my machine over the telephone, just today helped me with a thread tension issue, and has aided in solving many other problems in the past. I recommend anyone shopping for a used or new machine as well as repair parts contact him at: 866-362- 7397. Don't be concerned about calling him as I'm sure he'll treat you right regardless of who you bought your machine from. As Chris has said "he has spent many hours on the phone talking people through problems with their machines or sewing issues", and He is also a supporter and advertiser of this forum!
I could go on and on and write pages about  Bob & Bobby but I'll just close by saying they are good people that will treat you right!!!!!

Subject: Old Jock

An old guy ... (ok, a guy my age and not in the best of shape) was working out in the gym when he spotted a sweet young thing.

He asked the trainer that was nearby, "What machine in here should I use to impress that sweet young thing over there?"

The trainer looked him up and down and said, "I'd try the ATM in the lobby"

Wife's Diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much.
I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving.
I can't explain his behavior I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

Husband's Diary:

Boat wouldn't start, can't figure it out.

I just got a kick out of the re-purposing of a farm tool in the upholstery trade!
