How To Wrap Trunk Interior In Suede?

Trunk interior is OEM (generic carpet).

I will be wrapping the interior of my trunk in Suede.

How to?

The bottom piece that goes over the spare tire well is flat, so that is not an issue.

However, both the passenger & driver side have pre molded carpet fittings. -How to?

I was to fiberglass new pre molded fittings up (off the exhisting ones) & wrap them in suede. -This is going to add weight.

Can't I just stitch suede into the pre molded carpet?

Anyone know how the pre molded carpet is made? The backing is ordinary carpet. Hm, I wonder how they do that...

Is there an easier way?

If I were to go ahead & glass new pre molded fittings, how would I go about doing it? Just foil & tap the insides (they would of course be a tad bit small, but who'd know).

I've seen a guy foil the insides of his pre molded carpet, & pour polyurethane foam in them. After it cured, he popped out the polyurethane mould & glass off the back of that. Then bam, a new piece! -Makes sense & the size would be right on, but wouldn't that be expensive? Anyone know where I can get system part A & B foam for cheap?

Thanks!

Why don't you just pattern the Suede and sew it up. Once the carpet is off you can glue down the suede and your all set. There must be a space at the edges to tuck it in.

Thanks for your response.

I'm not sure if I can "pattern" those pre molded pieces as there are no "distinct" edges/line within the piece. As you can see, the sides are pretty intricate. From my understanding, suede won't conform to corners really well? Is this feasable w/ these lines, or I am going to have to get creative & mock up my own panels

Also, the padding on my spare tire lid cover. -Can I get that anywhere (carpet store) or is that a specific height.

As far as the suede goes, anyone know where to purchase?

^The 2nd link shows suede that looks really discolored/faded.

Your help is appreciated. Thank you.

Can answer one of your questions. For pourable a-b foam fgci.com has what you need and beats others prices around here by a good margin.

You want to use real suede?  or fake stuff like Alcantara or Ultrasuede?  Genuine suede is usually super stretchy in 2 directions.  And we can't see your pics unless we sign up for that website.
