ITALIAN MOTHER

Giuseppe excitedly tells his mother he's fallen in love and that he is going to get married.
He says, "Just for fun, Mama, I'm going to bring over three women and you try and guess which one I'm going to marry." The mother agrees.
The next day, he brings three beautiful women into the house, sits them down on the couch and they chat for a while
He then says, "Okay, Mama, guess which one am I going to marry?"
Mama says immediately, "The one on the right."
"That's amazing, Mama. You're right. How did you know?"
Mama replies: "I don't like her."

It's a lacquer finish and I think beyond an alcohol coating to release the moisture - I think it needs to be refinished -
This job came in today - it will be here for a while - a mess of broken parts

Sometimes customers are looking for a written estimate but avoid the cause explanations for fear of a charge from the repair service to visit and write it up.  I said to the customer the quilt marks and haze on the top make me think this was stored and the blanket it was stored with was wet when it went into storage.  Customer replied - " I only had a table cloth on it and it was never in storage"  When I told her if she wants a written estimate it will run $ 125.00 - she said I'll let you know.  That means she'll keep looking for someone to give her a free estimate

Customer calls today and says - I'll send you some photos do you think you can polish up the color in the house -
Can anyone offer up an opinion for the following questions
1- How did the finish get that way ?
2- Can it be done in the house ?
3- Is the customer holding back info ?

Pick up a small 6 inch grinder - it will have immeasurable uses in the shop beside grinding a foot.  Then you can customize your tooling to exactly what you want

I drove a truck after HS - several guys drove for the company who were over 300 lbs.  They tore up the seats and I had to put a folded up blanket under my butt to see the top of the dash board -
Bad streets and hitting bumps added to the wear and tear on those seats - the fun old days :(

In this crazy political season, it might be appropriate to examine a short Bible study.

Remember that Jesus said: 'Goats on the left, sheep on the right' (Matthew 25:33).
Jesus also told Peter that if he wanted to catch fish do it from the right side of the boat. They did and filled the boat with fish.

John 21:6 (NIV) ... He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.  " When they did, they were unable to haul in the net because of the large number of fish."

Origin of Left & Right...I have often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the "right" and Liberals are called the "left".
By chance, I stumbled upon this verse in the Bible: Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV) - "The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left." It surely can't get any simpler than that.

4 chairs reglued and recover using customers fabric.  They have 2 arm chairs but aren't sure if they want to do them.  I'm hoping they will when I deliver these back.  Arm chairs don't loosen like side chairs so they are hedging but the seat fabric I think they will want to do.

Question : When is the use of "@#$%" or "@#$%ing" acceptable?

Answer: There are only 11 times throughout history where the "F" word has been considered acceptable for use.

In ASCENDING order, those exclamations were:

11 . "What the @#$% do you mean, we're sinking?"
~ Capt. E. J. Smith of RMS Titanic, 1912.
10 . "What the @#$% was that?"
~ Mayor Of Hiroshima , 1945
9 . " Where did all those @#$%ing Indians come from?"
~ George Custer, 1877
8 . "Any @#$%ing idiot could understand that."
~ Albert Einstein, 1938.
7 . "It does so @#$%ing look like her!"
Picasso, 1926
6 . "How the @#$% did you work that out?"
~ Pythagoras, 126 BC.
5 . "You want WHAT on the @#$%ing ceiling?"
~ Michelangelo, 1566.
4 . "Where the @#$% are we?"
~ Amelia Earhart, 1937
3 . "Scattered @#$%ing showers, my ass!"
~ Noah, 4314 BC
2 . "Aw, come on Monica. Who the @#$% is going to find out?"
~ Bill Clinton, 1998
AND THE WINNER IS .....
1 . "There is no @#$%ing way Trump will ever become President"
~ Hillary Clinton, 2016

I know Doyle - a little bit more damage and it would have been easier to just cut off the damaged area and put on a new back piece for the arm.   It was a decent quality chair Ethan Allan but they were careless and broke it off and into pieces.  It is maple  - glued and screwed to the back post so it wasn't a hazard or a weak link but they managed to break a good solid connection splintering the wood.  Movers give me the major portion of my business - over the years I have seen just about all they can break -
There are terrific furniture handlers in this business but what it comes down to most times is management blunders - sending a truck too small - sending inexperienced helpers - missing equipment - under estimating the load -  add to that bad weather - long walks - slow or broken elevators - customers who make the guys move everything twice - accounts that expect more than humanly possible - stuff happens and not always is it the laborers fault.
Bad decisions like repairing furniture in the back of the truck is not what the owners or repair services want to see

Marble Vase - bottom broken - the broken piece fit back well but - chips were missing - the polyester fill is a little blacker than the base color but it doesn't catch your eye -

Van dyke + burnt umber glaze - satin + flat lacquer top coats.  Color looks good when compared to the other arm but both arms have wear + soil marks - not my job !
