There cannot be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full.

I have a friend who was working here for $ 25.00 / hour - her was a working shop foreman.  He moved last year down to NC to work for a large manufacturer.  Starting pay was $ 14.00 but full coverage; and he'll advance quickly because he is at the top of his game.  He had no papers - here illegally - and they had no issue with that.  He wanted to get out of NY and give his Family an easier life. He's done that - seems happy.  Signing bonus ? don't know - but he jumped at the opportunity

Good news!  Sure beats what seems to have been going on for the past.

Century!  Well, I will welcome the chance to see what they make - may have seen some but don't
remember?

Compared to other mass produced stuff Century makes upper scale furniture. I worked for them in the 80's before everything went to China. Looks like some of it is coming back. They are a good company to work for but be prepared to bust your ass 40 to 48 hours a week. I'm getting too old for production work.
