Howdy,

I happened to come across this video. Interesting idea. Instead of a shop vac they use the air compressor to compress foam. I wonder if this would work on big furniture foam.

I assume that there is a one-way valve in the tube that is put into the plastic.

I remember people asking on this forum about how to get the foam in a head rest.

QUALITY DOES NOT COST, IT PAYS!

Shop Vac will do the same thing.

Everything's getting so expensive these days, doesn't anything ever stay at the same price? Well the price for reupholstery hasn't changed much in years!

ditto.

anyone know were to get the plastic ( brain fart on the name---silk film??) in Canada in less than 5 mile rolls? I've built my own cushion stuffer, years ago, but can't justify a roll of the stuff that large.

I think we got it from Triden last time. But it was a five mile roll. It was a couple years ago, still 3 or 4 miles left.

I had bought it from Rochford Supply until my local jobber started carrying it. Called EZ Film. Here is the link:

there is a lot on a roll and it comes 54" wide (is folded in half on the roll).
With shipping here in the states on ground UPS I believe it would wash out close to $100

Gene turned me on to Sunshine Foam in Cincy. They have a 100 yd roll for 20 bucks. I had previously bought one of those 2200 yd. rolls (NOT from Rochford). It was advertised as "Noiseless", but it was anything but:

The stuff from Sunshine was absolutely perfect. My opinion is that many suppliers use terms like "noiseless" and "silk film" loosely.  I've already ordered a second 100 yd. roll from Sunshine. I'm sticking with them for silk film, since I know what I'm getting. I'd rather have a 100 yards that I can use, instead of 2200 that I can't use  (digging out the noisy stuff is more trouble than just stuffing the cushion by hand without any film).

But if Rochford's film really is noiseless, then that sounds like a good deal, too.

Upholsterers are supposed to be tough. Just mussel that thing in place. :D
There cannot be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full.
