This morning my son set out to Long Island in his MC5 to bring donated food and clothing items to the victims of hurricane sandy.  He will be making stops along the way to pick up donations.  After that he will return home, make another round of pickups and head out for NJ. His Girlfriend and her mother organized the relief effort with their local Rotary. My wife and I helped him load up some local donations before they headed out, talk about "stuff a bus" I hope they have room for everything.  I think he is going to make a youtube video of the event, if he does I will be sure to post it here.  It's moments like this that sure make a parent proud. :-)  Hears a little video of the bus.

I guess its true what they say "no good deed goes unpunished".  Nick pulled into a service station to top off the tank and suddenly lost all oil pressure.  Had to have a wrecker tow him to their facility, but considering the nature of his trip they offered to let him store the bus there while he made other arrangements to deliver the relief  supplies.  They rented a 20 foot u haul with a trailer and are back on the road.

My Son made it home safely, now we have to work on getting the bus home.  He has a buddy with a slab and a fork lift that would be perfect for removing the engine, I guess it will be towed their.  Looks like its going to be around two grand to tow her home, and it was so nice of the towing company to let him keep the bus at their facility while he made his delivery's, at $55.00 pr. day.
