Just seen this on E-Bay. Seemed cheap but I have no idea if this is a compound feed or not.

Looks like it is in good shape.

I was looking on Bob Kovars web site and seen this post machine they use for saddles, leather etc. It was mounted on a table and it looks like you stand and run the machine.

Some of these machines are so weird looking to me. I would love to run some of them. :) I am sure Bobbin has seen them all coming from the garment industry.

The Pfaff 481 in the E-Bay link is compound feed, but it isn't a walking foot machine. It is a high speed garment machine. That price is for head only (plus shipping). Not a very good deal IMO.

I wouldn't pay $50 for that Paff.  It's a GREAT machine, but does not have a lot of value.

I think you just dropped somthing.  Oh, shoot, it was a name!

I hope Bob apprecates all of the sales rep work you are doing for him.  He posts about these machines all the time on Leatherworker.net.  These heavy cylinder bed machines such as  Durkopp Adler 205 and Juki 441 clones are just about all that the folks there speak about and use.

You can stand and work, but most would prefer to sit while operating these style machines commonly used for horse saddles, bridals, and other type of sewn products that Mojo seems to have an intrest in.

I have never seen one of those types of post machines before. It was very interesting and cool as heck. I have seen the older post machines you use on shoes and such but that is the first time I have ever seen a new one that is mounted that way.

I love machines and wished I knew more about the other types of machines out there - sergers, post, high speed garment, zig zags, etc. I envy some of the people like Bobbin who have had vast amounts of exposure to the different machines over the years. Being relatively new to this industry and having only owned and sewn on two different types of walking foot machines, my experience is very limited to other machines so whenever I see one I am always curious.

I knew nothing about the Pfaff which is why I posted about it. I figured someone would comment about it. It is all part of my learning curve and there is nothing wrong with learning. I cannot help I am a dummy and uninformed when it comes to machines.  ::)

I've found that good honest competition often spurs business rather than diminish it. I hope that you realize that my comments have been honest and unsolicited, and I would expect that the same goes for other forum members that have sung praises for this and other suppliers that offered them service that we consider exemplary.

No need to defend Chris; You DO read Mojo's posts directed at me, correct?  I mean, if you don't see the tit for tat nudging back and forth, just check out a few posts.  Some of the are quite funny, and you should check some of our previous posts to catch up on the action.  I've even had people ask me (online and in person) what the deal is between us, and I say I look forward to our posts, and the 'flaming' is exceptionally mild by my standards!!!  Also, I enjoy his posts and threads very much, and he knows it.  

Just to be up front and clear, I learn a lot from Bob Kovar's posts here and his more frequent posts on Leatherworker.net.  He is one of many, but  I like to hear that other people out there are doing a good job and earing the respect of their customers.  Keep in mind, there are a few dealers here, but quite a few on other message boards I also frequent, there are more than a few dealers, and it's a GREAT to get a diverse response to a thread.  I'm no gift to the sewing machine industry.  I  enjoy the input from all, and NEVER felt like I had a message board market cornered.  I've NEVER questioned (nor would I publicly) another person or company on their ability to serve their customers.  Nor would I try to sway them away, that's not what these message board are about.

As for Mojo, he can call me what he want's (LOL) but I know he is anything but dumb about sewing machines.  Not knowing or not experiencing something does not make you dumb.  And from what I recall, MOJO brings more to the table than just about anybody here, and had a substantial track record to show for it.  He has a long list of professional accomplishments, I know.  

At this point I think Mojo knows I enjoy his posts, his ribbing, and I think he is the last surprised when I show up with quick, witty comments!  Also, he knows I'm a fan of his on this message board, and that we have spoken briefly on the telephone as well.

All of that said, I learned a long time that sarcasim and some joke do not come accross the way they are intened, and I do suppose I have to be more carful that people do not take my posts the wrong way.  I do trust your judgment, and can see where you would have taken things the way you seen them.  I'll try hard to be more clear about my feeble attempts at comedy.

I jab at Greg on here quite often and I enjoy it whenever he jabs back at me.  :P  I think I do it more to inject a little humor in his life and to get him to loosen up a little. Life shouldn't be taken so seriously. :) He has a different type of witt and humor and I get it most of the time. We trade barb's back and forth and have fun but we have never gotten mean spirited and tore into each other ( that I know of ). But give me some slack here folks, I am an equal opportunity harasser, I also jab at Allan, Gene, Big John and SofaDoc. They all have a huge sense of humor as well and life is to short not to laugh and enjoy your day. The only one I do not jab at is Bobbin. I am fearful of her flying down here and whopping my tired old butt. :)

Yes I bring up two names constantly - Bob Kovar and Miami Mike. Both are good friends, both go way out of their way to look after me and both have done many favors for me when they didn't have to. I must add that both have set aside their own interests and saved me time and money and for that I am grateful. When you have friends like this your obviously going to back them and help them with their businesses by recommending them.

The one thing I try and do is help as many people on here as I can. Unfortunately I lack some of the experience that others do when it comes to sewing so I cannot add a lot. Marketing and PR I always try and help with because that was my area of expertise for years. I have done a lot of reviewing web sites, rewriting tag lines and advising members here off the forum and in private and I love doing it.

I look at this forum as one big family ( albeit a little dysfunctional at times ) and there isn't a member on here I wouldn't help or go out of my way for. I owe this forum so much for all it has provided me - education and support. I have also made some awesome friendships on here as well.

In as far as dropping Bob's name, the next time I will also drop a link to his website.......lol. The fact is some people will always deal with Greg and others will only deal with Bob. Their personalities are different and thus you end up dealing with someone your comfortable with. The beauty in all this is that we have choices and that is a good thing. :)

We all should be thankful for the many suppliers and members here that support each other. This is an awesome place to spend time at and is a great resource to many of us. :)

It is all good and I am just happy then a pig in mud that I am still alive and a part of something. :)

It's called a dry sence of humor, and you can PM for my home telephone number so you can explain this to my wife!  

I feel a great sence of community here as well, and have had the opportunity to meet and greet many in person and over the telephone.

Before we all start feeling all warm and fuzzy and I start to lose my edge, don't get any ideas Mojo that I'm going soft here.

I think you are wise beyond your years in deciding to tread lightly with Bobbin ;) She probably has a machine dedicated to the sole purpose of whoppin' your butt! I'm not sure what such a machine would look like, but I'm sure it has a 3450 RPM motor, and probably some type of pneumatic "add-on".

I think Gregg's been a little "testy" ever since his mom found his porn stash. :D
