How to prevent your zipper slide from a poppin'

 Had an epiphany today while assembling a chaise lounge cushion. The zipper was naturally at the back end which was more narrow then the longer and wider front end. A popped zipper was looming. It occurred to me that if I sewed in one of those nifty little pockets that hides the slide on BOTH ends of the zipper...............the stitchin' would take most of the pressure off the zipper/slide. I proceeded to tug and yank the cover on this 60'' plus long beast without even breaking a sweat. Worked like a charm.
Might be old hat for some folks on here but I was quite pleased with myself.

Good tip Fingers. I'll remember that next time I'm doing one of those cushions. Nothing worse than breaking a zipper, especially when your wife does most of the sewing.  >:(

Biggest problem for me is my arms always seem to be about 5" short to stuff the front of the cushion.
There cannot be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full.

i did 3 boat vushions 16" x 16" or so with  gard close3d ell foam what a strugle it was with the foam not havig much give at all.

This isn't a cerebral statistic but it won't hurt to comment on some current events about the custom furniture and auto repair/redo market.

The information that I am sharing is; nothing is constant, except change, but it is constantly changing:  Just the past week my custom furniture work has shown a significant up tick.  Customers have come in to have cushions made with high quality fillers by the number and most only ask for an approximate price if at all.  Also to add, my auto seat repair work has hit a seasonal high also.  Picked up about a half dozen seat original seat repair work.  In a word, you can see it in the consumers eye that they aren't kicking tires - shopping.  They come with confidence that this is the "right" thing to do.  

As pointed out above, the type of customers referenced above are spending based on their confidence and/or previous experience with the business.  They don't have to be told about quality comes at a price.  They Knowalready!
