General Discussion / Re: Headlining

I would be curious if the boarding the fabric is glued to was easily removeable. My mind can see a few options here on the boat ceiling, like accessible control or piping equipment in the area. The removal of the old stuck foam could be a real pain in any situation.

Good day there

General Discussion / Re: Foam knife
September 22, 2017, 08:25:32 pm
I had seen a guy using a serrated knife on some foam rubber as in the blue/green and making it look easy and quite normal. So i went looking i found a millwauke but not sure it was long enough. Knife showed to be a 12" but could not really tell if that was blade or total. I think its real intent is the foam board insulation but looked worthy.

Way out of my ability, though did want to recommend a day or month limit on your estimates. I do like when others think or mention machine time. Its been a real good measurement in my past, and so always an interest.  Unless they are at the top of the food chain and you mention to take their hourly wage i would use another path. I always like that : )

Good day

Its been another good post here, I have to say many many more adhesives than has been in my tool box. As I was admiring some products were made or canned here in thee ole home State that was a plus. I should say these cans may have a higher freight charge as sometimes flammable items do. fwiw
I noticed the mention in the glue descriptions from the factory pages, of another sprayer, the critter 118 just about the spitn image.
These post do ring a bell as I recall several conversations of items here, I suppose just stickin to canvas i'm lucky these get re-visited. So in this can one of you elaborate on any kit or items you liked on the sprayers, seems there was some good and maybe short discussion in this sprayer specific way back.
Thanks guys

Im embarrased
I should have known something more as Miami sells it. I cannot get the link to work here though?. Its also interesting that some and maybe more are non-flammable. And yes Steve they show rattle cans (thumbs up)

This brand im sure some here are extremely familar with, very interesting brand.  I would really like to here some careful specfics towards fabrics that we need a bit more care with..
to be honest amongst my pro freinds here, i always related the k-grip to just the sprayer.

Steve I only have experience with the 3M spray cans and minimal use of a paintgun type in trimmer shops.  So i promote the use of the cans in low heat / sun enviroments.
As learning from professionals here and in Auto trimming, l am confident for standard foam adhesion these spray rattle type can products work great, they have for me. Especially when not much is needed, in this i mean small projects because i can promise you i have 2 cans in shop that wont spray. Been setting to long and them big cans are not cheap by any means. A side note when i infrequently dont have experience : ) i purchase the name that does, this works well. And thats funny i dont care who says it aint!
The sprayer with the jar container is an item i think one would find in every Upholstery shop somewhere. And consider if you do a lot of foam layering and custom work as mentioned, and use air compressor regularly this is a very good choice. I remember others mention these have a few particulars that gave changed.  It had been a long time since i looked for these specfics. In short ask Sofadoc anybody thats been looking at this stuff since knee high had and can be a guide here.
I say all this to lead in direction of the Auto and honestly Higher heat conditions our products "should be"  known they will be in.  In this specfic i have read countless post from auto trimmers that they use high heat adhesive only and have plenty stories why they only use Weldwood Landau http://www.dap.com/dap-products-ph/weldwood-landau-top-trim-high-heat-resistant-contact-cement/
This is one brand of two that most use in high heat.

Good day

I love concrete work!
I hate sweatin and busting my az doing it though. I have found its not cheap by any means and theres two kinds cracked and going to crack. Thee art is knowing the best cut joint locations more is always good, and expansion joint needs for the loacalle. I really like this stuff in a link below for the deep thin cuts ( skip the foam n use this totally ) imo
http://www.nuwayinc.com/ProductDetail.aspx?prdid=3214
They make the thicker version i like for expansion joint topping, it levels also just a pain for saw cuts imo.
They have the tubes in super size thats really works well although not a biggy. All these take a long time to dry ( i say quality takes time ) the company also makes a sealer helper this i have used and a pain to use but it is the above and beyond method. Most important ask your pro contractor
Enjoy the new build there, its always a great time

Do you use face book now as a biz, just curious.

Doyle:
I have thought about diversification in these related talents most here make their lively hood.
The idea is always interesting in special respect to new! experiences.  I am not young and so am reluctant to stray far from the porch. Here in these times I think back to many trainers mention, the project take on of what you can have time to study. For me this and many times the area or space. In my former this is no different except the amount of area a piece can take up. And jokingly here and these concerned talents we sure cannot use outside as I could and "had to" many times. Or even now with boats many times.
Always enjoy the crafted questions, they help a great deal. I wished the upholstery magazine was still available with discussions of these new trends, digital of all kinds.

I would look around the net for sew table lamps, instead of juki, not sure they even make one. Generally all have a mounting point I found in the way as one is sewing or tilting the machine back for maintenance.

A more important issue for myself was the standard issue lamps were in no way long enough for proper lighting.  I dont mean to be a gripe, but this was a real complaint for me.  I just could not imagine 1 hour a day with these typical setups. Much less 8 professional hours!

To add in this task lighting for ya I early on heard from others about a tiny ( 1" long )magnetic led strip light That mounts on the machine by the needle bar.  I think i got one from both Suppliers that were on the site here daily. Gregg and Bob, they are great business's and ourselves as members really need daily activity here as that is an excellent need for them, and they a real need so all stitchers and their specfic jobs are welcome.

Anyway I found a need to have a longer reach light, with this i wanted the base out of my way, i decided the flex type was best for my choice.  This was tough but i found in short the very affordable were a waste of time.  I link below a 36" long although really 40"long to bulb center i really like because its heavy duty and out of the way, this length seems to be the critical $ decision of others i have seen with benefits.
https://m.grainger.com/mobile/product/LUMAPRO-Machine-Tool-Light-2RPJ3?fc=MWP2IDP2PCP

Here for many I found I think a keeper bulb that only takes once and ya will know!
As i have in my last career countless times, without further a do " a great amount of light without being typical hot as old style + shatter restistant".  This was not HOT
https://m.grainger.com/mobile/product/AERO-TECH-20-Watts-Screw-In-CFL-23MD14
They make a 25 watt but i first ordered these and ended up purchasing 3 more, their shipping is crazy.

Finally a late find i made last year may be interesting though a bit shorter, this machine i found has a nice lamp of LED and flexible reach of 32" it was factory installed on the Cobra 4
https://www.leathermachineco.com/product/cobra-super-28-led-super-beam-lamp/
I believe this company is in your state and from my experience another great asset to us. They may help in this a bit more.

Good luck

Congratulations!!!
Your not kiding they are heavy, Enjoy 😊
As others mentioned yes you can. I have the k stands and all now have casters.
An issue first seems the treadle platform will need attention, possibly lowered.
I guess you could say that distance between table top and platform is just to little now.
And then its to high for your existing chair, its a process for sure.  I would wonder what the
table height is. This could be different if one uses a different caster mount point i.e. Not the
bottom as usual. Rather a custom to the side version.

375. Whaaa now thats also a deal

Sounds like that would totally be going through the decorator with decision using her #
Although in ours here it says to an effect your decision on trust they are doing correct.
Doesnt seem that it should matter in tangible check off, they could decide how its best line item taxed. Maybe that is their reasoning, with some pre accountant call they made.
It sure is a days work at least searching and trying to find these specfics. I think you can trust the other business pro to do the right thing, and with her name on the billing.
Thats my .02

Good idea on that stainless Chris
Its seems a small square say a foot or bit bigger would be good when Im cutting holes in the canvas for vents and such.
Along with another strip for moving around the table could be handy, say 1 each for the typical measures.  I just say that because 60" or wider canvas but you all know not everything comes 36" and it is a pain to move as ya get to the other table side. Chris the 3" wide can be a great benefit with the choices, good tip!. I did find some short rules in aluminum from an art supply that have a rubber or neoprene on the bottom, and recessed back from edge slightly. These really stick and are handy both hot knife and rotary.  Blicks place westward, having the 12 and 18" works for me on small work these really kick.

Now ya got me thinking, have a good day all
