I also have a Suisei binder described by Mojo. I worked quite well on my Singer 111W155. However, my Juki has larger screw holes for mounting attachments, and the binder mounting slot would need to be modified to allow attachment.

As for leverage on sewing machine screws located with limited access, here is link to ratchet a screw driver set review that might help.

To remove thread jams, among other sewing related uses, I use compound joint hemostats.

General Discussion / Re: Left arm rotator cuff pain

Unless do a rotary cuff exercise daily, I have chronic pain but from a skiing accident. The exercise is the pendelum in the following link, except I do it holding a 10 pound bar bell. Although only one side seems to be effected, I do the exercise on both sides.

General Discussion / Juki 1508 Engineer's Manual

I've acquired a pdf copy of the subject manual that does not seem to available online, at least I couldn't find one. Please send me a PM if you'd like a copy.

On my iMac, Acrobat does not allow saving the document. It can be printed. I was also able to drag and drop the file from eMail to the the file system.

For the adjustment manual, would you please send a PM. I've scanned the document as six, two-up pdf pages, some up to about 2MB per page.

I've also scanned the manual as a single pdf of just over 13 MB.

I could send the pages in separate eMails, the whole document in a single eMail or hard copy by snail mail.

Just tell me how you would prefer to receive it.

I have an original knee lift, oil pan, several feet but no spares, several decorative cams, bobbins and even bobbin winder although I'm using an after market bobbin winder.

I also have an original user manual, parts manual, adjustment manual and even marketing materials. I could scan and eMail a copy of the adjustment

I got after market cams -- the H1 and H2 multi-point, multi-step cams -- from ebay. While not made of steel, I've had no problems.

I've successfully sewed with up to #92 thread.

From another forum I've read that the self-lubrication design-point of some machines is at speeds that are higher than slow stitching that is possible with a servo-motor.

Here is a Sailrite video on using Tenara thread that might help.

Just in case you don't have a user manual, here is a link:

Quote from: sofadoc on April 26, 2014, 08:21:37 amI experimented with my Juki DDL-555 this morning. It uses the same needle and feet as the Consew 105.

I took some medium weight tweed fabric, and folded it into 4 layers. It sewed fine with an 18 gauge needle.

Then I folded it into 8 layers. It did exactly what Jerry's machine is doing. My conclusion is that 8 layers is simply more than my machine is designed to handle.

Sofadoc seems to correct. Based on pictures of the machine, it seems to be a drop-feed machine without a walking-foot.

To increase thread tension to coerce a sewing machine to sew heavy material, Sailrite suggests double-wrapping the tension discs.

To find Sailrite materials that describe this, try the following in google.

The link below is to a trouble-shooting chart that lists 15 causes and solutions for knots on the underside of the fabric.
