We've been watching the weather channel tonight.  Things are wicked out there.  Stay safe everyone!

I was using my little Chrome notebook upstairs and it is worthless for this stuff.  Now that I'm on my tower, I could do the cut and copy.

At least you can get this picture back this way.

It is a fabulous picture!  I don't blame you in the least for being upset that it is missing from your P/B account.

Emoticons don't work.  I'm not a fan of P/B because it takes time to load the pics there, then you have to click and add to this place so I tend not to post too many.  Since your picture displays here, is there no way for you to copy it.  Or can you talk to P/B about copying it for you.  I would be devastated if my last pics of Jimmy and Carly would disappear.

I found an auction on eBay buying by the yard and so bought 3 yards.  Shipping was under $3 and the buy yard price was $1.30 per yard.  Didn't really want to buy a huge roll of this stuff since this is my first time using it so doesn't seem like I'll be using a tremendous amount of it.  Should have it by the end of the week so will get a lot of sewing done while I wait for it and then be ready to "make hay while the sun shines" as the old saying goes.

Thanks for all of your advice!

Thanks for the info.  Mine does have three prongs.  I'll look around and see what I can find locally; otherwise I'll order some on-line.  I can be getting everything sewn while I wait for shipping if need be.  I should finish cutting vinyl today.  Hopefully I can find it locally as I want to keep on track with this project.

LOL on me!  I was just sure that I wouldn't run into anything that I hadn't seen before on these chairs.  Seats are waterfall design and as expected.  Chair backs are throwing me for a loop.  Most of the seamed area is hidden by the frame of the chair.  Held in place by 2 screws at either end.  Top of the seat back has about 1/2" flexible cardboard type material under the fold (don't know the name of the stuff but I have a roll so no problem).  The top has a soft curve into the side and that is where the problem comes in.  I don't know what the stuff is called even that holds the curves into place.  Has "teeth" that sinks into the back side of the upholstery and the opposing side has small holes that you staple into the frame.  I was pretty careful when I removed this stuff so that I think I can reuse.  I'd try and buy a roll of it if I knew what the heck it is called even.  My question though is how do I install this stuff?  Do I staple it into the frame and then go back and catch the teeth into the fabric and fold it over?  Feeling like an idiot on this one.  I'm sure it is simple enough if you know what the correct procedure is supposed to be.

Thanks for anyone who can answer my addle brained question!

They have either 10 or 11 yards left.  It is in one continuous roll I believe.  Auction says by the yard and you can request either all or part of the yardage.  By the yard simply means that they will not sell fat quarters, 1/4 yard, 1/3 yard, etc.

You have found your missing yardage.  Just order 2 yards and it will come in one continuous piece.  To make sure, you can email the seller to make sure that is the case but that is generally how these auctions work.

Absolutely sensational, Mike!  Your workmanship is out of this world.

That is incredible workmanship Steve!  Congrats on a job well done!

I did a child's chair a couple of year's ago (upholstered), that had belonged to my customer and her sibling.  I'm not sure how she came to be in possession of the chair.  At any rate, she never had children.  Her brother was now grandfather to 2 children.  She gave the reupholstered chair to him for his grandbabies to use.  She sent me the cutest picture of the 2 little ones sitting in the chair together and told me that she and her brother had similarly shared the chair but couldn't find the picture of then "sharing so nicely".  It was a darling picture.

Brace is way too thick for any kind of tube sock to around it.  Not sure how but yesterday it stayed up without any real issues.  Hoping for similar results today.  I think I really cinched the straps tight yesterday and that seemed to help.  After I'd been up for a while, I did have to loosen them a bit because of a little selling after I'd been up a bit.  Hopefully the next, and last week, will go like yesterday.

Working actually makes the brace issue more frustrating.  Like you're trying to walk across the length of your work facility and you have to stop every 5 or 6 steps to pull the brace back up into place, going up or down the steps and winding up with it down around your ankle before you're half-way through the steps, etc.  Had me spitting bullets Monday for sure.  Plus, leg just feels better when the brace is sitting correctly.  Anyway, this too shall pass!

your susposed to buy new matress? my current is 12 years old before that I was getting poked by springs

LOL Mike, when I worked at the furniture store, the store manager told us that mattresses/box springs should be replaced at least every 7 years.  Also, you should buy matt/box springs as a set because they are designed to work together.  How much of that is true I don't know, that was just what we told customers.  Some are supposed to be rotated every 3 months and some should not be.  Your salesperson should tell you that at the time of purchase.

You might try a site called Spine Health.  They discuss all kinds of issues related to back/spinal issues and there have been numerous threads about mattresses for people with those issues.  A lot will depend on what is wrong with your back and there are very knowledgeable people there about different issues.

I had a Restonic that I really liked during my serious back issues but they are based out of Missouri so don't know if they are available in your area.  Try to get something with what is called "Marvelous Middle" -- it simply keeps your body for imprinting so easily so the mattress regains its original shape.

I knew you had said that some time ago.  I practiced a bit and it just wasn't happening so I went guts up and figured out how to keep my right leg straight so I could sew with it.  No pain or discomfort at all with it so that's good progress.  29th is almost here but dang it seems like it's never going to get here.  I'm having serious issues with keeping the brace up.  I've tightened the velcro as well as the straps but it still keeps falling.  10 long days to go.

I had a gentleman call 2 weeks ago with a boat tarp that the stitching had split on.  Of course, he wanted to come over and wait while I stitched it (on a Friday evening no less).  I, as patiently as possible, explained about the broken knee, contractor issues and that I was committed to 4 prom dresses and 2 weddings so I couldn't possibly get it done then.  Dude was persistent and even wanted to come and "maneuver the fabric" for me if that would help.  I stressed again about the broken RIGHT knee and offered to in 2 or 3 weeks.  He was concerned, of course, about rain on his boat interior but I had no choice but to hold firm to my position.

I figured he had found someone else but Friday early afternoon, he called again, wanting to bring the tarp by for pick-up Sunday afternoon.  When he dropped it off, he opined that it would start pouring Saturday afternoon.  Which it did.  I think he was hoping to shame me into an on the spot repair but I needed to oil my machine and move some clutter on the top of it, etc., so I told him I would call him once it was fixed.

After he left, I wondered to Bob if I would be able to.  I tried a few left foot practice runs and my coordination was just not going to let that happen so today I sat as far back from the machine as I needed to keep my right foot straight and much to my amazement I could.  I tried my pressure foot on my Bernina maybe 10 days ago and it wasn't intense pain but just wasn't comfortable and I didn't get that sensation at all today.

Called customer when I was finished and, of course, he isn't going to pick up until tomorrow now.  I told Bob before I called that was my prediction.  People are so funny!

Anyway, I was just elated that I've healed enough to start upholster type sewing with my "bad" leg.  Especially since I should get the vinyl for the barber's chairs tomorrow and hope to start sewing welting Tuesday some time.

I'll be on there once I get this brace off.  I've got some nice stuff left over from a boat.  Guy had me order extra for a seat and hasn't been back for the seat.  Like 18 months, so time to get it out of here.  It's buried in the furnace room which will get tidied once the brace is gone.  I've been wondering what to do with extra vinyl.  Seems like I never get to use it on a small project.

Thanks for the tip!
