what is my Pfaff 545 H4 worth

I have an extra sewing machine in my shop that someone has asked me about selling.  It is a Pfaff 545 H4 with a table and an extra motor.  It does work but should probably be serviced as it has not been looked at for several years.  I bought it with a package deal when I bought the business so I really don't know what it is worth. 

Does anyone here know what would be a fair asking price for the machine?

I sold a Juki 562 for $600 last spring.  I took the money and ran.  I had originally been thinking of asking $350-400, but the mechanic I use knew the machine and told me to ask for more.  It had a new motor, new bench top, a dozen bobbins, and a standard presser foot set up and a 1/4" welting set.   I bought it used in '94 (I think), and took good care of it, replacing the hook at some point.

Depending on the condition of your machine, I think you could get $400-600.  Personally,  I wouldn't spend more than $350 on something like that but I've been working with machinery for a pretty long time now and it's not the sort of thing I'd want unless the price was really "right".

Spend some quality time cleaning it up, oiling it, and run it for a bit.  I know cleaning my old Juki up was worth the time involved!

I sold my Pfaff 145 for $600. It was "road ready", and needed no servicing.
If your 545 is in good running condition, I think you can get more than that.
There are a lot of Pfaff fans who don't mind over-paying for them.
If you're not sure about it's condition, and don't want to invest any time or money just to fix it up to sell, you still might get $500.
I'm not a huge Pfaff fan myself, but I do know one thing for sure. They withstand a ton of abuse. Your 545 probably doesn't really need much more than an oil change, and general clean-up.
