Hi there

Im interested in buying this sofa:

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6295235/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHome+and+furniture%7C14417894/c_2/3%7Ccat_15701232%7CSofas%2C+armchairs+and+chairs%7C14418261.htm

The sofa is perfect for me because it is very simple, modern but most
importantly of all, its a small sofa that will fit into my attic.

My only problem is that I dont like the colour options for this sofa. I want
to buy the sofa, then have the fabric changed to a non-leather bright, bold
orange, like the one in this picture:

http://www.getbedroomfurniture.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/793c2c04faniture.jpg.jpg

How much would I expect to pay, to have an expert source the fabric
and then do the job? The sofa is only £130 so I wouldnt be much interested
in spending a fortune to get this done. I have no clue how much fabric like this
would cost and I have equally less knowledge on how much people charge
for upholstery work.

Cheers

Just get them to make it in the colour you want, not a big deal...

As Henry Ford once said they can have it in any color they want as long as it is Black.  :D

Upholstery labor prices can vary greatly from one region to another here in the U.S..
So it would be difficult for most of us to advise you about price on your side of the pond. As with any part of the world, it's probably best to check several places locally to get an idea of the going rate. My guess is that you will spend more than the original cost of the sofa. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Actually if you look at the site you will see that they are available in fabrics as well and different colours.

Here's the same sofa on ebay for £60, so that'll save you £70.

To get it recovered, including the fabric you won't get much change from £300, at least not around here anyway.

Hiya

Im trying to find out who makes the sofa. Im hoping they could do a one off
version of the sofa in orange. Seems like nowadays the world is wrapped in
so much red tape, theres little chance they will do it for me.

If the charge was around £300 for the work I would be happy
with it, im worried that the orange fabric will cost a fortune. It
seems only designer sofa's that are costing over £2000 come in
orange.

In a way, being a person who studied and worked as a graphic designer
can be a real pain sometimes. I dont fuss over very much, dont even
fuss over myself. Yet, when it comes to dealing with decorating my
room, I find myself picking over even the most minor details to the point
where my head starts to hurt lol. Oh well, I guess im not the only
person in the world like that! :)
