Here is how I sew double welt.

My feet are different and I only cut my fabric 2-1/2 inches wide. What I like about this method is you can pull the selvage tightly to the right as you sew along. This makes a nice tight welt with the thread deep inside the grove.

There cannot be a crisis next week. My schedule is already full.
