I see what your saying.  I am going to pattern the bow first then pattern the snaps with a good pull.  Nut if I start to get too much bend I will have to back off...

I am going to lay out the isinglass this weekend.  Any tips or thoughts on a way to make it come out looking cleaner or stronger.  I was going to pattern it like a bimini, leaving the top seam for the sleeve more rearward, opposite the angle of the isinglass.  I have some nice white dacron laying around, was thinking that would look good and be strong.

Any thoughts???

I would tension the frame like mike was saying, and then made a paper bag. I found pics of my dodger pattern.

Hi Pep,

Thanks for the pics.  I am going to pattern mine tomorrow.  I hope I can get the nice look you achieved with the clear vinyl.  I am going to have to with a zipper for practical reasons.  If I want to raise and lower it, I don't want to krinkle the isinglass in the corners and ruin it...

Ed what guage vinyl do you plan to use. On a side note what is the speed of your volicity?

Highvelocity

I am using 40 gauge vinyl.  I tried it out this weekend and it worked well, needs some fine tuning to keep it tight side to side.

The best speed I got out of the boat was 73.1 MPH on GPS...

Let's see pictures! Maybe you need snaps in the pocket, pulling along the bar? I do that often.

Hey Mike, here you go...
Also, I was impatient and did not web the bottom where the snaps go, could that be causing some of my issues...???

Mike

Well snaps do need to be supported with somtjing strong not to tear out webbing or layered material e t but as it is now i see some wrinkles at the corners of the bow. Id play eith the seam ow puil it tighter removing the ripples if it bothers you or let it tighten up when it gets cold. It doese the job im sure and is temposry only when its cold.

Highvelocity

Mike the issue is when we are up on plane, I am getting "Pull Wrinkles" starting at the snaps.  So I am hoping the webbing will cure that aspect...  Then I will pull the seam in a bit...

I had a guy sith a 30' bluewater center  console with tein 300hps i did  a t top enclosure with gullsings the wings wee attached with lockjng fastners to the gunnels  he riped the straps off and asked me what to do. Insaid slow down.  Perhaps your be better off with polycarbonate Ed
And like i said. Ecore id rather use a pvc  track for the. Bottom  of the window.

Highvelocity

Mike, where can I get the polycarbonate...????
I think thats what I will wind up with in the end.  I replaced some of it on a fishing boat with strataglass...it was old and cracking but my machine still punched right through a scrap.

The older i get i agree. I had a 18 sutphen 20 ueads ago and loved ripping up the lake just the prop wet. But now i can see the attraction to. Ponyoon. Idealy if i could id like a new deckboat. Like  searay sundeck.
