I want to make some tool rolls and other HEAVY weight gear.  I'm looking for some brown canvass duck like Carhartt coats are made from.

fragged8

cotton Duck shrinks an inch a yard so you need to account for that
when making anything.

Try Allens Canvas.  It's in Texas and they have all sorts of options.  That's where I buy all the goods for floor cloths.  Remember:  the smaller the number the heavier the goods.  www.allenscanvas.com

Thanks, I noticed that about the weight too.  If it's a number designation, then the smaller number means the heavier weight material.  But if it's described as weight, like in oz.'s, then 14 oz. is heavier than 7 oz.!  Don't know why they use two different ways of describing the weight.

Nice to know about the shrinkage too.  I'm thinking about getting it with a waterproof coating already on it.  Not sure if I'd have a problem with shrinkage with that.  I'll be sure to ask when I call.

Thanks everyone!
