Quick question for those who use Craigslist

Don't know about that email being a scam but how they describe Paypal is how it
works. A person sending you need money needs to log into their Paypal account
and to send money they need the email address associated with your Paypal acct
to do so.

When buying off Craigslist I've done this a couple of times and always put a
description of the transcation with a link to the ad in the memo box of the payment
page. However, I do prefer the seller send me a money request or invoice through
Paypal. That way I get a notice they are requesting money and a link is provided
to pay making sure you're paying the right person.

FYI, I've checked with Paypal and Craigslist purchases made through Paypal do
have buyer protection. Could be because Ebay owns a major share of Craigslist.

I disagree with the notion that asking if the "item is still available" means the
person is scamming. I've done it plenty of times myself. I'm not going to waste my
time asking a lot of questions until I know. I've had a lot of problems with sellers
not removing ads after an item is sold. Also a lot of problems with sellers not
returning email. If someone puts an ad up at least have the courtesy to respond
or note in the ad if they "don't ship", "if it's up it's still available" and so on.

By the way if you do take a Paypal payment make sure to ad the 4% fee.
