The bit on the edge around the arch / foreground.
It looks like some kind of neoprene ?
I am quoting in on a replacement camper & haven't done one with this stuff on before. Can't imagine it would like the UV that much, alternatives ?

It looks like maybe a weather stripping sewn on the wrong side. Normarly it's between the canvas and arch. It looks
like it on the outside and not even need

DBR1957

Definitely some big fat weatherstripping. I've never seen it so large for
marine work. Looks like something for a convertible top for a car. That
wing looks like it's a Sunseeker. Did a 48' Predator before or Superhawk.
I forget which model. Had that wing and its a bear to get it leak proof.

Weatherstrip for sure.  Don't know why it shows on the outside.  I like to use it around windshields and arches.  It's sold by two companies as X-tra Seal and X-treme Seal.  X-tra is the less expensive.

At arch reminded me of a Trojan I did about probly 10 years ago now  why is the sunseekers prone. To be leaky?

Thanks for the names June, so if it's on the inside it will be protected from the sun then.

Yes it is a sunseeker camargue 46 full marks to DBR  ;D

Thanks Gang.

yup looks like x-tream seal , Miami Mike sells it and will do
short lengths, i've asked before.

I have a pic somewhere of a bowrider we did at teh school with
x-tream seal around the underside of the bow cover.

if you get some Grebo I may go halfs with you if it's not too pricey.

Is there no where to get it over here Rich ?

You can see it at the bottom of page 31 here.

Also, they have windshield spray welt which is a foam product at the top of that same page.  Last time I checked, the Xtra Seal was about 1/2 the price of Xtreme Seal.

Here's the Xtreme Seal at one on-line supplier.

Looks like Bainbridge also carries it.

Remember that funky seal it was grey vinyl with. Foam filled  round piece ? Kedar shaped
The grey vinyl would be all cracked up.
Then there is  all rubber  hollow round piece with the flat rubber strip salhaped like kedar.

I've only encountered that stuff once Mike, back when I was starting out.  Thank goodness it's not in use anymore.  Rotten bad stuff it was.   >:(

i've seen that stuff around windshields, the foam is usually
shot to pieces and about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.
