I am attaching over 400 nails to a KING size headboard.  I will be working on it vertical.  Any tips and talent that someone  would like to share with me? :o

If I'm understanding you correctly.....your not removing the headboard from the frame, your working with it in a vertical position? I would spend a few minutes to take it off the frame and move my work piece were it was most convenient for me, either sawhorses or the floor. Once you start to knockin' in those tacks it will start to move quickly enough.
