attaching buillion fringe

Can someone direct me to the best way to attach bullion fringe to the bottom of my couch? Glue, sew, staple, tack? And if glue what type?

I always hand sew the fringe on a piece but other methods work fine too like a hot glue gun or decorative tacks.   It's more a matter of preference in how people like to work.
