Need Advice on Snaps

Ok, look for "trim head screws".  The heads are way smaller than standard - maybe too small.  The availability of stainless is probably not good in local hardware stores.  I'd look online.

Here's a torx head screw....  Not cheap.

I'm a little late to this party...

#36 snaps are available.  Don't know what brand button machine you have, but snap dies are available for most -- unfortunately for you, only #20 and #24.  If you really want to try #36, I really like Fasnap:

You'll have to get a #36 snap die, of course, and probably a new dedicated machine.
