Said "Goodbye" to an old friend

I remember when I had a REALLY hard time justifying the cost of a land-line phone......$14 a month.

Now, my kids chew me out when they can't reach me by cell phone, because I left it somewhere.

They're too young to fully remember the time before cell phones became so common. They just don't understand that there was a time when.........if you weren't at home or work..........you just simply couldn't be reached.

Local news seems to be shootings, fires, car crashes, sports, and weather.

I like the teasers:

"There's a danger lurking in your house that could KILL you!!  We'll tell you what it is.......tonight at ten"

I can't help but think "Ya know, if they truly cared about me, they'd tell me right now".
