New How To Videos

Now that I have a You Tube Channel, I have started uploading videos on a project I have wanted to do for some time now.  It is a series on how to upholster a wing chair, the first part is doing an evaluation.  I am targeting this series to people interested in doing it themselves with little, or no experience, so I plan on keeping it fairly simple.  I will be uploading new videos as fast as I have time to edit them.  If you would like to stay updated on each part it would be best to subscribe so you can be emailed on each new chapter.  If you have been watching my videos on the bus conversion, I think you will notice a difference, at least I hope so. The bus conversion is my private personal time and the how to series is hopefully a little more professionally done, although with the equipment I have available "professional" will have to be a relative term. :-[
I will attempt to post the proceeding chapters here, but like I said subscribing would be the best.  You Tube limits me to about 10 min. videos, so there will be a lot of chapters.  Anyway, hope you all enjoy and I hope this helps people wanting to learn this fascinating trade, or art.

Thanks for the time and effort Mike. Sometimes while I'm working I wonder if this is the way other upholsterers do it. Do other upholsterers take the time to do it right. Or do they just strip off the old fabric and recover. It's good to see you point out some of the short cuts that were taken over the years.

Were working on a 1920's sofa. The frame has not seen the light of day for almost 100 years. Total redo. The customer told us last time it was reupholstered, 8 years ago, she was only charged $300. Were charging well over $1000.

Keep up the good work Mike. Look forward to the next video. Just hate that this is taking time away from your bus project. Your going to have to put that wood stove back in soon. Har Har  ;)

Hi Kodydog:  Thanks it makes it all worth while when people respond and tell me they like the videos.  It is not really taking time away from the bus because I work on the upholstery when I cant work on it. 

This weekend we replaced all the fuel lines started her up and moved it closer to the shop, first time its moved in over a year, we had trouble getting her primed, but eventually worked it out.  It was exciting to hear it start, run and actually move!  I have been working on laying a hardwood floor in the back bedroom, milling paneling and building the bed platform and the wood stove is installed and pumping out the btu's.   I have a different stove this year, its a cute little pot belly that I plane on installing permanently.   Video to follow soon.
