Just tell'm for a real low cost ya can get them out of the sun when stopped,ya can make them a boom tent,you pick up a cheep tarp that is 2ft wider then the boat and just short of the size of the boom,plus a bag of  12 bungy cords[about $30 all and all Northen Tool] and sell it for $150.
It drapes over the boom and the down to the safety rails held with the bungys. You don't even need to sew anything.
