Inside Back Tub Chair

What is the trick to the inside back of a tub chair?  If there was already fabric on the chair, I could strip it and use it as a pattern I know, but the chair is already bare frame.  So, 2 questions: best way to make a pattern and determine those inside curved seams at the junction between the "back" and the "arms", and question 2 would be the best way to stretch that hollow curve/ convex curve into place?  Start tacking at the bottom? top? outtermost points?

I moved your post over here so it would get more views.  The "How'd You Do That???" area where you had it posted is more for people sharing a write up of how to do something, not for asking a question about how to do it.

I'm sure someone will be able to help you when they read it.  A lot of the experts don't frequent the forum on the weekends.

Never done one but i have done a helm bucket seat, they're a pain .


the easiest way is to seam the inside curve i think , check out some pics on google images

minimum of 3 panels with 2 seams, don't try to do it with 2 panels and a centre seam.

it would take all day for me to explain how to pattern it in one so perhaps someone else

  If you could post of the chair in question it might be easier to explain how to pattern it.

  Upholstering it would most likely be done from the center out. This will give you the curve needed. If you were to start at the out most sides you would not get the curves.

  Again a picture would help.
