This was a repair from earlier this week.  Leather covered, made in Brazil - adjustable head-rests.  The chrome leg twisted and broke off. The frame was made of slats with the bark still on.  1/2 staples securing the wood members.  Undersized lumber - 3/16th plywood.  Not meant to last.  I added 8 pieces of wood, and some metal plates.  What are these manufacturers thinking ?

People want cheap?   We can do that.

The one that gets me is manufacturers who use cheap screws that snap off or strip out.   Even at full retail, there can't be more than 50 cents worth of screws in some of these pieces.  Wholesale about 1/2 to 1/3 that.   Just how much could they be saving if even 1 in 100 requires a post-delivery repair?
