Mine died on my birthday a couple of years ago. You can imagine the MIL jokes that went around the staff table once the shock/grieving/funeral etc... were out of the road. "What did you get for your Birthday?" , " Promoted to decent chap."

I'm kidding. I was quite fond of the old girl and upset that she just didn't wake up that morning.
