Covering irregular pieces with vinyl

Is there a way to cover this with vinyl? It's a customer's project, (long story), but it's 1/2" plywood cutout with lots of corners. I'm worried about those sharp inside corners. How can this be done?

Yes.  For 1/2" thick it should be possible with the right vinyl, cut on the bias or whatever way yields maximum stretch, and a lot of heat.  You'll need to snip very close to the inside corner, of course.  Any thicker than that and you'd probably have to sew an inner boxing.

I did it. It can be done, but it sure was hard. There were long nails on the other side of the board and it was small and hard to handle. Also, the underside sure is ugly with my folds and staples, but no one will ever see it. But still, I wish I was neater at this sort of thing. Thanks for your help!

Sometimes you get a project that is someones bright idea and when they bring it in they say I have a small job for ya. If it's never been upholstered before you have to figure the pattern which can take several attempts. You have to imagine what it will look like when it's finished.
Now on to the next project.
