Kody, I think "normal" will never be back. We will be back to our new standards soon. But the world has a very new normal. With or without the Corona Virus. This election is just following the last several and the misfits are growing at an alarming rate.

Why don't we just move to Facebook and create a group of the same name and lock it down to only business trades people. I think this is like that here. I don't want to run the group but would be happy to join.
Or just use the group that exist now there. It is pretty simple to use and very easy to post whatever you want.
I would definitely expect it to be private maybe even by invite only to keep the general public out.

Most fabrics will stretch more in one direction. If it isn't a ridiculous amount dont worry about it

Ken when foam gets firmer when it cold I would think it has some memory foam in it.

General Discussion / Re: Shaving sewing machine foot

Probably of you don't have the tool. Don't take any off the bottom. I gather you want to take a leg off? You can buy whats called a zipper foot that has only one leg on the back foot.

Actually the hot knife has no thermostat at all. You hold the trigger to turn it on and let off when its hot. You being the thermostat.

Your welcome Doyle,
There are some fabrics that you know will fray like Sunbrella. That's why it's cut with a hot knife.
24
You could always cut a strip off each direction of the sample and see how it hold up to pulling on the threads. This would be the only way to know for sure.
25
You want to use sewfoam. It is 1/4" or 1/2" thick with fabric glued on the back already. Use the oink kind as it is firmer.

I have done one repair with this type of top stitching. Thick threads and long stitch length. My 1541 does a stitch length that comes close. And the thread I ordered special. I forget the weight but it is actually thicker than recommended by my mechanic. He said using it will eat up the bobbin race. So I will not be doing that again.
I was really wishing to be able to do this. Not for repair work, I don't take much repair work but for reupholstery it would be nice to be able to offer it. But that's ok I'm sure that fad will die quickly as the threads wear and break.

General Discussion / Re: Merry Christmas

This yar was a good one for business. We have been pretty busy all year which s both unusual and wonderful at the same time. Alot happened in 2019. We moved our residence to a community with a gate and am very happy we made this move. Our old neighborhood was not the best and I was always concerned about my wife being there during the day and me being an hour away at the shop. But that is a relief now. So lets all look forward to another prosperous and safe year ahead. 2020 will be a grand year.

You might be able to do as Kodydog mentioned and sew it on but if the frame is open on the bottom you can do it from the with a curved needle and button twine. just make sure you grab the cushion with the needle.

Doyle it does sound like you're bumper might be worn allowing the driver to come out to far.
