No, I understood, but couldn't resist.   I don't know if it was from Crocodile Dundee movies, Outback Steakhouse ads, having worked for a couple of Aussies, having one working for me and working with a few others on projects,  a two-week visit to Sydney, or what.

The thing that amazed me about Australia was that it's the size of the US 48, but half the people live in one of two cities.   

As I wrote that I thought a few might read it that way :D we speak the same language but use it differently.

Anyways, Merry Christmas. I'm just slippin my fongs on to take a walk down the beach. ;)

Mostly cause it's desert Keith, and as the place get's more populated with immigration and baby bonus's it is still all in those two cities, I think it is 90 to 95% live on the coast.

I do use the battery drill to power the coffee grinder.

We have to clean 3 units on Christmas day and then I have very large and complex shade sail  to start the next day, biggest one I have ever done, no rest for the wicked. :)

I'm the same way. I will take the furniture with the fabric and a deposit. It is only on rare, very rare, occasion that I will take a piece of furniture without the fabric and a deposit.

Hey Mike, thanks for posting that link, it has a lot of information that I have been looking for :)

We have a holiday rental house next door and with Christmas holidays about to start my wife and I are dreading what we are going to have living next door for the next 2 or 3 weeks, being on the other side of the world it is our summer break.

It is a house advertised as sleeping 8, but quite often that is how many cars parked in the front yard, at $350 to $400 a night we very rarely get a family next door you can count more on 2 or 3 family's with an attitude of we pay top dollar we can do what we like (here for a good time not a long time), usually get half a dozen young couples playing music till the early hours, be okay if it was inside.

I talked to the owner one day and mentioned that we saw more than 60 people one day on his upstairs deck, he declined my offer to call him if I saw things such as that gong on in his absence, at first I was puzzled I would have been chucking a slab of beer over the fence with my mobile written on it if it was my place. But then I realized he was smarter than me and didn't want me ringing him up at 3 in the morning :)

   

Neither did I Chris, doesn't matter how much you house is worth you still have to buy another one. Though I could go up to Ballarat and buy 2 or 3.

Whats the attraction to the "Rat", the thrill of the metal detector? The hot dry Summers? Or the bitterly cold windy winters?

We are selling up to get a smaller place closer to town and I will concentrate more on sewing, we were lucky we bought in down here over 25 years ago , it was way more affordable. Real estate prices are job protection for me as I am not going to have any retired upholsterers moving in on my turf, we have thought about cashing in and moving to the east coast, but there's to many old upholsterers working for cash. 

Looks like Kodys place is priced to sell, which if you want to move on that's better than asking 230 and waiting  a couple of years to find a buyer. Should not take long it is very well set up.
