Please tell us about your method for thinning leather!  (The guy who did mine for me was killed a year ago in a motorcycle accident :-[ )

The Business Of Upholstery / Re: Break time....
September 08, 2010, 02:45:14 pm
A bit of history, Stitcher:  a few years back, many of us left here and went over to Jack Carr's site, because there were several practical jokers, and lots of extremely rude commentators.  Some of us have come back, because the site seems to be policed a little better.  The exchange of information on both sites is priceless to those of us in the business!   Even though my focus is furniture, I still find your comments very interesting and educational.  Please don't take any of the negative comments personally, no matter how they are addressed.  There is room for all of us here.

one of the OLD old-timers,

It is similar to a Hunzinger style, if that helps.

General Discussion / Re: annoying pleat wrinkles

In addition to Rich's suggestions, make sure that you always sew in the same direction.  Sometimes, the machine feed varies enough to create wrinkles, and if the seams all start at the same end it seems to help.

Personally, I would not use fibrefill, as it tends to compress and flatten out over time.  The foam (I HATE shredded foam because of the static cling!) does keep its resilience and shape longer.  My 2cents, Jan

Woodchucks are marmots, and pests, no matter what they are called! >:(

Goat saddles????

Please change the name.  In recent years, it has become a very derogatory term for female.  Most of us of the female persuasion find it very insulting.

thank you, Bobby!  As one of the technologically-challenged here, I really appreciate the step-by-step! ;D
