General Discussion / saddle inserts
June 05, 2015, 08:52:27 am

I am doing a couch that was originally done in red vinyl and it has embroidered saddles that the client wants inserted into the new vinyl. It was originally going to be done in red leather but the red was not a good match so they chose to go with a parchment colored vinyl fabric.
What is the best way to go about doing this?  The saddles are 18" wide and 12" high.  I have a thought of just telling them the material is just too old and I can get them embroidered on the new fabric (which I think will be alot easier to do).  Any suggestions?

I inadvertantly posted something in the forum that I meant to put into the general discussion - is there a way to get this moved without having to delete the message and repost a new one?
Thanks, Liz

You don't mean you would charge $75.00 for that big blue cover the top boat with straps going around. Do you mean $750.00?

Where are you located? If in the Northwest, I would recommend Rex Peg out of Washington . I think they are in the Seattle area. Have always had good service from them.

I have the repairman on his way coming next week. The pressure on the presser foot is the same whether it is almost out or all the way down -
. Thanks for your suggestions though, I appreciate them.

Thanks for the suggestions. I do seem to have a problem with the amount of pressure on the foot.  I have the pressure foot control on top of the machine almost out and yet, I can't pull fabric through. It is a fairly new machine time to call the service man I guess. I have read the manual (for what it's worth lol) and it scared me that I might totalky screw it up.
I know the pressure adjustment is not right, I will start there. It's a juki 1541s if anyone can tell me how to do it in English! Thanks

Help! I am working on typical bar stools and am having trouble with one side always coming out uneven. I make sure the front and back are cut out and sides are even, I sew the welting on the back and when I sew the front to back starting the stitching in the middle, one side always comes out uneven! What am I doing wrong? When I take it apart and lay them on to of one another they are even again.HELP! Please.

I need to give a quote for an 18 1/2' on-board Bayliner.  Any ideas on how much I should charge? What is the best fabric to use? I have made some small on boat covers using Top gun and similar poly- coated acrylic that have snapped on. This she wants to pull on and have the elastic on the bottom. I have gotten a pdf file from Sailrite and it seems pretty straight forward. Thanks.

You're right about the driveway lol.  I know most furniture stores charge for delivery from Missoula it's at least 60 m miles one way and they charge $50.00 (or maybe more by
now). We delivered the furniture yesterday and it took 2 hours round trip to deliver and pickup. I ended up charging $100.00 - I guess I feel comfortable with the$50.00 charge. I do like the idea of somehow working out into the conversation.  This is an out of state owner and the caretaker has been busy with calving and couldn't get away.
