I am a small biz..  my reputation is on the line with everything that goes out the door.  I inspect every new sample book and lately have set some aside as too risky to sell. 

With warranty work, the monkey is on the store's back, not ours.  And  my stores are pretty good about repairs and quality results.

That said, I refuse to work on Ashley furniture, and have turned MANY away.  Why??  Because in the process of  repairing the  original complaint, too many other things either broke, failed or needed repaired in order to make MY repair  acceptable... hence.. I dont work on Ashley.

My customer ordered it from them, and it was beautiful, although way to thick to sew comfortably.  I skived where i had to and just dealt with it.   

I have added another "warning" to my list of "If you order your own leather..."

Does anyone have any experience with this company?  Good reports? Not so good??

Is it really gonna break the bank?  I mean,  just how much difference in $$ is there? 

What  kind of springs?  Burlap, flexpad,  foam, dacron, use cotton to fill in the  gutters.  I have  also just layered up cotton too instead of foam. But I like flexpad for a modern spring cover.

What kind of quality are they??

Sunguard  does that.  *shrug*   I have a spool of orange (to match that Chevy  many moons ago) and it has always shed.   Messy stuff but when you need a matching poly and its there.. you use it.  ;D    Never had a problem with performance.

Edited to add:   Mine is 92.  I can see 138 is shedding even more through the tension discs, vs a 92,  that is a large thread..  perhaps  adding an oiling  blob of cotton  at the top of the  spool holder and a slightly looser tension might lesson the effect of the shedding.

But I still doubt it will affect the performance.

There's a BIG difference in the  commonly available  spray adhesive Weldwood in a can and the  stuff you get via a supplier in either a gallon or 5 gallon bucket.  The store bought spray can is crap in my  opinion.

MinUph ..  fire that glue sprayer up and use that yellow stuff.  It has a short shelf life (more than a few months but sooo not 5 years.. ask me how I know :P ).  It's good for everything else in your shop too, if you shoot lightly and keep  ventilated.

My 2 cents...  I just had my Juki 562 worked on (first time ever) since I bought it in 1983..  the  mechanic replaced the hook, everything else is perfectly fine.. she runs as new as the day she was born.  Don't discount these machines because of age.    I also have one its Singer counterparts.    A workhorse is a workhorse.    ;)

Thats when I would take the canvas off and back to the shop.   They then could retrieve it and pay for it, and install it themselves.

Did that once to a guy who had all the seats and a bimini  done  on his pontoon,  and  then didn't want to pay.   He coughed the $$ up real fast.

I was NOT concerned about his feelings or  word of mouth.  Still ain't.
