Hi, Have you checked out the How-to section of this website? You may find some help here: https://store.upholster.com/how-to-upholster/how-to-upholster-car-sunvisors.html

Hi, try this link: https://store.upholster.com/how-to-upholster. It leads to a page on this site, but it seems the navigation button 'How-to' has not been updated yet.
On that page, scroll down below the first video, and you will find some tips on how to run your own business.

Well done! Have you set any limits on the file size?

Just to let you know: We are working on some features that did not work in the old forum. Space for images is one of those features. Rob is one of those who knows more than I do about the forum setup, so he is knee-deep into the problem with ancient configurations. Among other things, he has got your avatars working again. Just give him some time!

Thanks for trying.

I notice that apart from my own avatar, which is linked to from a different site, none of you seem to have avatars. I seem to remember that some of you used to have one. Could you please try either selecting one, or if that doesn't work, upload one?

Hi forum users!
As you may have discovered, the forum has had a major overhaul. We are checking to see if everything is working properly, so could you please take a look around, make a few posts, so that we can see if it is working!

If you find anything NOT working, please report it here. :)

Now all the festive days are behind us, so I wish you all a happy, prosperous and peaceful new decade!
I can tell you that I'm throwing a glance at you every day. Sometimes I read your posts, or at least some of them. But most important is, I'm trying to keep this forum clear of spammers and such creeps. If I miss some, I hope you will send me a notification.

Greetings to all of you!

Thanks, folks! :)

I had to google the word 'mysogenist', never heard it before.  Now that I know the meaning, I have to say that the jokes, especially that one Steve pulled, is not anyway biased, it 'abuses' every shade of 'political correctness' that you can think of, and I see no problem with that.
I'm a woman, kind of 'semi-feminist', and I have never felt uncomfortable with what has been written here. I start getting uncomfortable, though, when someone starts accusing the other group members of being racists, mysogenists etc. If someone can't tolerate a joke without calling the group members names, then I guess he/she knows where the 'door' is.
The 'Friday funnies' make my day (or perhaps I should say week), when I'm trawling this forum on behalf of the owner to keep it spam free.

And have a great Christmas, all of you!

Spam ladies: That is how the free online apps are financed. Nothing to do about it unless you have a spam blocker.

The first link is to an image on the Upholster Facebook page. I chose an image there and clicked it to get the actual web address for the image, and that is what I pasted here. When you open the link, it will first open a mass of stuff, but if you are patient, the right image will eventually emerge.

The second link is to an image on one of my home pages. I right-clicked the image to get the web address for it, and then pasted it. This seems to be the easiest, provided you have a domain where you can upload stuff. For those of you who have your own website, that shouldn't be a problem. If your website is managed for you  by someon else, then you should be able to get the access details and use a free upload program, like FileZilla.

Hi, I need tome help:

After having nuked a spammer who had 4 posts here, I'm looking at Sonamwsingh and Capper12 and am a bit in doubt whether you would classify them as spammers or not. They have both posted in 'The business of Upholstery' (Capper you will see, the other guy is in the thread about furniture has changed or something.) They put up a link, but have actually nothing important to say. Should they stay or... ? I will rely on you who are in the uph business here ;)

Maybe I made it too difficult for new members to register. After the load of spam last autumn I made a captcha and three security questions. I'll remove one of those security questions and see if that helps. We haven't had many new members since then.
