General Discussion / Common Sense Single 2 Prong Stud
December 27, 2012, 01:55:35 pm
Hello All,

Does anyone know where I can find the Common Sense Single 2 Prong Stud in the Black Finish?

I tried uploading a photo with no luck, so here's a picture of one on the Sailright website

http://www.sailrite.com/Common-Sense-2-Prong-Stud-Key-CC

I need 150 of them.  If anyone has any leads I sure would appreciate it.  If any of you happen to have some I be happy to buy some.  Need them for some old U.S. Army truck canvas.

Trivantage can get me some in a week or two but only in quantities of 1000.

Feel free to e-mail me at jwatt@nwtarp.com or Call 360 296 2321.

Wishing You All the Best in the New Year.  I hope 2013 is prosperous for all!

General Discussion / "Fresh Thread"
December 02, 2011, 06:54:18 pm
I've read some of the info about threads from the various suppliers and occasionally I'll see a reference to "Fresh Thread."

Now, I don't store thread in direct sunlight, near heat or anywhere where stuff, (beer), can get spilled on it.

Some of the spools of thread I have in the shop have been around a while.  Some for years and others several months.

I mostly use Poly 138 / 92 or Nylon 69 threads and always use new thread when working on marine canvas.

My question is:  What is categorized as "Fresh Thread" and what should be considered stale, outdated or beyond its freshness date?

Your thoughts on this topic are eagerly awaited.

General Discussion / Pfaff 1245 Zerk Fitting Grease
June 07, 2011, 02:40:35 pm
Hello all! ;D

Our Pfaff 1245 needs to have the zerk fitting lubed and I don't feel like taking the machine for a days ride to Seattle or Vancouver so I've been thinking of doing it myself.

Problem is the manual calls for:

Lithium base grease with a dripping point of 185° C and a worked penetration of 22-25 mm at 25° C.

Pfaff recommends: Pfaff Sewing Machine Grease Part No. 280-1-120-247

Huh!? ???

I probably don't want to throw any old lithium base grease in the zerk fitting of the old war horse do I?

Or do I?

Anyone had experience with this stuff and where the hell can you find it?

Hope everyone is doing well.

General Discussion / Question about a Singer 211G151
August 30, 2010, 08:21:24 pm
We picked up a Singer 211G151 today for a great price and and its a really sweet machine.  It even has the auto oil feature.  It sews like a dream and I couldn't ask for a better machine but here's my question:

I've read the specs online about the machine at various internet websites and some of them refer to the machine as a "Walking foot"  and others say it isn't.

To make things even more confusing there are a variety of presser feet available for the machine.  Some of the presser feet would suggest the presser foot bars are interchangeable.  Is this a feature of the Singer 211G151?

Anyone who may have had experience with this model of machine I sure would appreciate any input you have.

Thanks in advance!
