My first industrial machine was a Pfaff 545, still my number 1 machine today. I bought it second hand & it come fitted with a foot pedal lift.
Never had any problems with it. Now my 'standby' machine is a Seiko with a knee lift, what a pita it always seems to catch or jump might need some adjustment I guess but I've never taken the time as I rarely use it.
Give me the foot pedal anyday.

I have an 4 thread Elna. I was told it is a heavy domestic 😂 whatever that is. I use it on sunbrella cushion fabric & when I make up custom bedding.
This machine can do overlock & coverlock but I can't be arsed to change it over. So waste of money there..lol..
I did trial an industrial version once but found it to temperamental ( threads & needles breaking) and limited to one stitch style. The domestic is far more useful for what I do.
I also have domestic embroidery machine, just in case 😉

I've tried giving it away, no one is interested.
I throw the little bits away as I go then have a purge once a year, I hate throwing anything away but can't find another option.

OOh I think one of my first in spain, this guy drove his mini moke into the shop & ask me to make a top cover for it.
At this point I had no idea how to make canvas bimini's or anything with a curve in it. It turned out ok & he was happy with it but boy would I love to do that again.

Err, I've got an emocion symbol on my keyboard (tablet) actually I've no idea why it worked. 😂

52 + 3/4.  Going thought ' that time of life '  You lads might get a rough deal sometimes but you sure don't want to go through it 😥 .
It can really mess up your mind, let alone your body.
But I'm hanging in there, can't get as much work done as before but still have some regular customers 😂

You've got some good points there, for me posting pictures is a right pita, as you said. FB makes it so easy.
I've never been that vocal here but did check in most days. No I haven't been around for quite some time but that's for personal reasons.
We've had a good run here, it sure was the best.
Probably is time to move on, c u around.

I'm glad this came up I have just landed 11 clinic chairs to recover, it's for my osteopath so a bit tricky to get out of.
Not something I normally do but I thought I would give it a go ( fool )
He's chosen silvertex from Spradling which is a lovely material but a bit thicker/stiffer than the original cloth.
I thought I would treat the corners like I would a flat panel, cut the corner into fingers & pull & stretch around.
Any tips on getting them nice & smooth, or is that how to do it, with trial & error.

I know it's not pretty, first attempt.

No I don't use any form of stick on velcro either.
Same reason plus it's so ugly when not in use.

Silver screens.
Hi Boys & girls, I've made a couple of external silver screen covers for our RV which are snapped on & I would like to add one on the inside of the rear window, I was thinking magnetic tape would be good so as to get a nice 'seal' it's my side of the bed & gets a bit of a cold drop from the glass this time of year. I am not going into production on this it's a one off for us.

After suggestions on the magnetic tape there seems to be a plefora of weight/strenghts available.
Or other ideas come to that. I don't want to put this one on the outside as it's just something else to find storage space for.
