General Discussion / Re: Red Surlast Turned to Pink

Well not sure why it faded so fast? I would ask your sales rep.

Not sure why you used the Surlast was it for the $$$ or the high water repellency and Light weight.

I have a several fabrics that will work great in your area,

Top Notch 1S is a Polyester with a back coat and is 7.5 oz. Less breathable high water High tensile strength. $$
Top Gun 1S Is a coated Polyester on one side and is 9 oz. Less breathable very high water, high tensile strength. $$$
WeatherMax 80 is a woven fabric 8 oz breathable and high water. High tensile strength. $$$
Top Notch 9 woven fabric 9 oz breathable and high water. High tensile strength.$$$

These are what I would have offered you if you had called me but not knowing what you needed the fabric to do I listed all that I would recommend for a $$$ price point.

Now not all have a true red but the Max 80 and Top Notch 1S do.

I would like to know why you choose the Surlast for this job.

I can't find the place to change the link to our web page on my account here. But if you can get in touch with us we should be able to get you what you need. We have added a direct competition to the Aqualon it is the Heritage by Marlen Textiles. One side Acrylic coated and the underside is white. It will never crack or delaminate. 60" 9oz. We also have added the Nautimar it has a single coat and double coted. It is a vinyl like the stamoid but it only comes in 86" widths. I have been told by several of my clients that it is easy to clean and they like it. It does have a special silicon finishing formula for easy cleaning.

We have lots of options>  :)

Doyle  not sure on what kind of vinyl you are talking about. Upholstery vinyl TARPING vinyl or some other kind of vinyl? Any time multi roll orders come in we look at them and try to give you the best price we can. If it will be something we will get repeat orders we will look into that as well. Now most of my pricing I do I try to get a no haggle price. The back and forth takes to much time for all. Again it depends on the product we are talking about. For Miami if its an every day selling product we work better on them. If its that brand we sell little of but can get we may not have the best price on it.

I am sure every other jobber does this to a point. I think it depends on what the product is.

I'm not sure if you buy from Miami or not but we do our best to work with every client on their needs.

Find a auto trim shop in the area. They should have the Detroit original books. You can look up the original fabric that was used and order the fabric and get it fixed. On our web page we offer several on the books that you can see in a PDF file. Find the year, make and model.  Near the bottom of the page. Just look in the 1999 book. It may be in the book. Some colors and patterns run for several years.

I think the Bruin product will do the trick. I know the product and as Bob T said it has worked for him.

I do not think we have a one product that meets all the needs. Not sure if this will but I think it does most.

General Discussion / Re: New Fabric On The Market
March 28, 2013, 08:45:48 am
Yes Mojo, we had this made for the awning side of our business. But it can be used in many markets like truck tarps, gym mats ect. What makes this Coated 19oz different is the finish. We added a slight grain to it like an orange peel and we took the vinyl shine out. So it will look like a fabric on the top side. Soluna also comes with a 5 year warranty.
