This is my first project, its a stool for my Mom's dog. I bought it at a garage sale for $5 it was rusted, taller and brown vinyl topped. My husband cut the legs to make it shorter and spray painted it white. My husband does embroidery so I purchased upholstery fabric and he put Gracie's name on top and I covered it in clear heavy duty vinyl. 
I love the way it turned out for a first, easy project.

Thank you, I think thats a good idea to start with the rocker. I havent decided on a fabric for this one yet but I did, finally, find the shop that has the best variety of patterns.

I have 3 chairs I can choose from as a first project and I would like everyone's opinion on which one I should try to upholster first.
1) I bought this chair at a garage sale, it was $45 and I haggled him down to $18! I love this one.



2) I bought this one as a garage sale for $3 and am thinking I might redo this in purple velvet.



3) This was my Mom's antique rocker that she gave to me.

I have not met anyone yet, I have been wondering Pinterest and Youtube just trying to figure out what I need and were to start.
I have a BabyLock sewing machine and do quilting and some clothes making, nothing fancy by any stretch and my husband does all my machine embroidery.
