General Discussion / Re: Apple vs. Windows?

I myself am an Apple fan. I agree the price can be a little deterring but once you bite the bullet you see how superior of a product it is. Apple products "Just Work".

General Discussion / Need advice on fabrics
May 11, 2015, 06:11:02 pm
I picked up a job for a dentist office. Seven waiting room chairs. I need to get some fabric sample books and a supplier for fabrics. I mostly do vinyl work but I've been getting more fabric requests. Can someone advise me on some fabric books. I'll post a picture of the chairs.

General Discussion / Re: Loose welt need advice
March 19, 2015, 06:22:22 pm
It's premade welt. The inner core is 5/32. I'm using a 1/4" welt foot. The stitch is in the correct place it just seems to loosen up. More when I go around curves or corners. I can see the stitches a bit when I stretch the covers over the foam.

In rebuilding some boat cushions. I'm having a little trouble with loose welting. I'll my stitching is nice and tight but when I sew the vinyl together with the welt it seems to loosen up. Any ideas?

General Discussion / Re: spraying glue

I was new to spraying contact cement. Last summer I did a lot of tests spraying contact cement and I found laquer thinner to work the best for cleaning. laquer thinner has toluene in it and toluene is one of the main solvents in the weldwood contact cement I was spraying. I also used laquer thinner as a thinner for contact cement and it worked great.

Awesome!! I love the look!!

I'm really interested in seeing how you sewed the seams especially where they cross. Do you have any close up pictures?

A little off topic like the shoelace but I couldn't resist.
