General Discussion / Defiance Button Machine
December 10, 2014, 01:46:42 pm
I just picked up a foot lever operated Defiance button machine.

There's no name plate, oddly, but I think it is a 1920 model.

It came with a box full of dies.

After searching all over the Internet, I haven't been able to find any information or operator's manual for this press.

Does any one have any of this information for this machine?

Thank you very much!

General Discussion / Juki Lu 563 Attachments
October 30, 2014, 05:45:04 pm
Hello!
I'm trying to find a good source for Juki LU 563 attachments.

I'm particularly interested in a binder attachment and one that folds a hem. I am sewing waxed canvas tote seams, which can have some thick layers and haven't been able to find an effective way to finish them so that they look professional.

Thank you, in advance!

General Discussion / Juki 563

Hello!

I'm still pretty learning the ins and outs of my experienced Juki 563.

I'm sewing a lot of canvas, and normally, it works really well.

The problem I'm having is when I am sewing over a seam of a thicker, multiple layer, to just a double layer.

The walking foot stoodd and I have to carefully lift the foot and fiddle with it to get over the hump. This often leads to missed stitches, and too many broken needles.

I have both increased and decreased  the presser foot tension and continue to have this problem.

I would really ike to know if anyone has any suggestions.

Thank you very much!
