I don't lime the plastic lulls they don't seem to be as smoothe a d I've had the pull vet stuck and the handle bleak off in my hand.

I have yet to have this happen, but i can see it happening really easy. I've used mostly the YKK zippers which are plastic/plastic when using the finished jacket zippers. I was hoping there was an alternative on the market.

Does zipper lube help at all?

General Discussion / Zipper brand selections

Im interested to know what everyone uses for Marine zippers on their enclosures, covers, etc. I have used both the Riri and YKK zippers, but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with them.

Are there other zipper brands on the market to be used in the marine environment?

i needed one to do a recent job. I went to Harbor freight and bought their 30 dollar 20 gauge stapler. picked up some SS staples from Manart and it did a fine job. However, i am still looking at a Duofast.

General Discussion / Jeep Convertible top repair
February 24, 2011, 08:42:28 am
I had a customer email me today that she wants a repair on her convertible top to her Jeep. As i recall this top is in good shape except for a 2 inch rip on both sides of the top, near the front, over the doors.

has anyone ever repaired one of these and how? I would hate to break it more.

So, because you don't know how to interpret it, you decry the effort? Where was your effort?

General Discussion / Newbie here

Hello all,

I found these forums through google and researching some sewing machines. It really looked like a great forum with a lot of information so i joined.

I do have a part time canvas/upholstery business which seems to be doing as well as i expected.  I started it just about a year ago with a Yamata FY8500 and recently upgraded to a Consew 206rb-5. It seems to be one hell of a machine. it was like going from a yugo to a cadillac.

anyway, i would like to say i have been browsing the forums already and have read tons a stuff i didnt know.
