Okay, cabin fever is starting to set in. Our local phone book has a map of Manitoba on the cover and as I was looking up some numbers I dwelt on the fact that Riding Mountain National Park is shaped like a pistol. No big deal,every school kid knows that. What concerns me is the time I spent wondering why they would shape the first national park in the country like an object banned from the park (they were still legal back then). Why not shape it like a chain saw? You aren't allowed to use them either.

Hand guns are not "banned" as they are in the U.K etc but they are so heavily regulated (unless your a criminal) that handgun shooters are a small and exclusive group. Our laws etc are similar to the ones in Australia that one of our members shared on the post about your right to bear arms.
Special permit to own one---special permit every trip to the range ( and you can't go anywhere else with it) between this and this time along route ... and back between this time and this time. Far easier to just buy a used American one in a seedy bar and be a criminal.
