Has anyone here worked with Nanai Salmon Leather before? If so, what's it like and how can I get a hold of some?
HAMANN-Motorsport just designed a BMW X6 and trimmed its interior with the fabric - and it looks GREAT! Check out the pics: http://www.thehogring.com/2011/03/15/bmw-x6-decked-out-in-salmon-leather/
Hey there hogRing:
Sounds FISHY to me! Pardon the pun...Is that the Product Line name of the leather? I use mostly SpinneyBeck and Townsend Leather lines for my aviation interior jobs. You really can't beat their quality for their leather processing. However, Salmon will be on my radar it they provide Burn Certifications for FAA REGS.
Gale.
Hey Gale,
I'm not sure if that's the Product line or not. Apparently HAMANN-Motorsport uses it exclusively (at least that's what their press release said). But I'd love to know more about it.
I like SpinneyBeck - especially their laser engraved stuff. But like you, I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for this Salmon stuff. (Gives a whole new meaning to that new car smell, huh?)
The article says it's real salmon skin. I think it's the shiny stuff on the dash, console and upper part of the door panels, not the seats.

I agree June - that's what it appears to be. You don't happen to know where I can acquire some, do you?
Take a look

Seems pretty good pricing for a sample pack of 5. Might be fun to play with and see what can be done.
And another.
