Looks super clean, Mike!
Can't wait to see the finished product Mike.
Very nice! Is this just for the sides with zippers, or do you use this way at the snaps too? How do you do curves?
We usually put a 2" or 3" piece with just a seam and topstiched. The window doesn't go all the way to the edge. With the cold around here the zipper can shrink with the window. Your way looks way more polished!
Just he verticals mostly the top and bottom is generally curved there I'll just cut what I need in a curved shape to match.
Yes peppy if he widow wasn't going to thenedve I'd cut the facing the correct width and cut the vinyl off I've not had a
problem in fl doing it this way though when I was up north it was a different story.
I won't nstalled till mid week I e got a doctors apoi tme t tomorow so it will have to wait.
hiya
be sure to let us know how it does at the doctors Mike, i'm root'n for ya.
you need a binder for those edges, i can do that in 2 mins with my 4" binder
start with 4 1/4 " strips and end up with 1 1/2" bound edge which just happens to
perfectly hide a #10 zipper .
you only need one pass on the window edge and it will curve slightly, you can also use the binder to make 1 1/2" straps too.
you can buy them in different sizes from suppliers of equipment to garment sewers as they
use them to put the band on the top of Pants. Have a look at your Jeans
and see it's a good size for that job.

Rich if it's limey s
alleer binders wouldn't it have to be pre folded not it the center but at the edges? That why I turn the edges under and topstitch it to fold it I also m
like the Gerry edge stitched would your binder do that?I e got to go and see a out osi g the whole in my heart. If I need to have it done and maybe a refferal. The hospital said it would be a good idea whebn I was there.
hiya
no Mike it goes in the binder flat and comes out with the 2 cut edges folded under and also folded in half
just like the way you do it.
I'll get a pic for you, i know how you like to save time where you can and the binder will help i'm sure
I hope it all goes well Mike, you might as well get the oil changed and your tyres rotated
while youre there heheh. I hope you get a good looking nurse to look after you.

bit of a mix up with the zipper but your american imperial zippers will be hidden, english metric ones are slightly wider at 40mm I discovered

Where cN one get one of thoose rich? I'd lime the fa Inc to be 1" wide that would be sweet.!
On most of my window like on the side of a bridge the zippers meet at the senter so only a 3/4" would be needed to hide it there are cases where I'll have the 1 1/2" zipper tape is all on one widow hidden as you suggest. Like where a front widow meets a side window and inwant a watertight flap for speed or the center front window that rolls up on a op
ening windshield. I'll have the flap
like that also.
Just got a refferal
list today to call around.
Hiya
Mark At Hood canvas sells them for about $400 but i got mine from a company in the US
who sell stuff on ebay a lot cheaper,
I do have one of Marks as well but it doesn't work for metric zippers
so had to find a larger one.
they are used to sew waist bands on pants
talk to these guys they are very helpful and keep most stuff in stock
