Well now, that just stinks >:( Sorry to hear that, Mike. Now if you were right down the road I'd be over in my spare time to help keep your business going. You get lots of rest and take care of yourself.
June
the moderator would remove the first line out of mouth. It would be the sargeant major version of "some Bitch!" I wish you a speedy recovery, and don't be an idiot and push it !!!!
My biggest concern is what the heck are they going to do to your diet now that you and John have each had one ? If they put you on melba toast and skimmed milk I'll send you down a couple of shirts LOL.
As Red Green would say "keep your stick on the ice" "we're all pullin' for 'ya "
Mike.. I am so sorry to hear this. You will be in my prayers for a very quick recovery.
Mike, God speed to a quick recovery.
Loren
Oh Mike... no one needs that sort of thing.
You have to do precisely what they tell you to do to get yourself well. Even when it's hard and you don't "feel like it". Esp. at those times!
Mum had a stroke in '04 and my brother and I "rode her hard" about doing the things she needed to do for recovery. She would get really pissed off about it, but she did it, and the results were amazing.
Grit it out, friend.
So sorry to hear about this Mike. :( You take good care of yourself and get well soon! Keep us posted on your road to recovery!
Boy, you'll do ANYTHING to get out of mowing the grass!! :D
Take care of yourself.
Oh my...poop a...like....noooodle Mike...I was just about to get together with you all to make a new forum video!!
This is on hold till you get to feeling more like you do now then when you got here!!
Im a prayin and a singin just for you MIke!!
Ok...the singin part might be a bit much...take your ear plugs Mister!!!!!
Speedy recovery,
Karen
Mike
Get well soon
You need another boat to take your mind off things
Allan
Mike, my gosh, so sorry to hear. But glad that you are home and have your faculties. On the prayer list. If the thoughts are there, just YELL LOUDER. Keep us posted.
Oh man, that sucks! Take it easy and work at recovery and you'll be back at it in no time. My dad had a pretty big stroke a few years ago and is back to normal. Well, sort of. His old normal would never have included a solo trip around South America, but what ever.
Good luck!
Yo, Mike (or john) send me 6 numbers between 1-49. If we win I'll be down there as soon as my passport gets processed. Until then, as everyone has said, focus on your health. everything else doesn't matter and can wait.
Sorry I woke you up yesterday. I was expecting to leave a message on your shop answering machine.
Lots of :-*'s & take it easy man. Suzi x
That well....sucks! Sorry to hear the news. Do like everyone says and TAKE IT EASY!!! sending our thoughts and best wishes,
Lynn (& Phil)
Mike
I am so sorry to hear that. Make sure you get all the rest you need. Take care of YOU! and the rest will fall in line.
You are in our prayers.
Unbelievable Mike!!! The same thing just happened to another buddy of mine. Every case is different, but the recovery is the same...keep a good attitude, and challenge yourself to recovery. Never give up. Keep us posted on your progress...we all need to know, Bro.
Gale.
Sorry to hear that Mike. Like everybody has said, take care and get well soon.
Sorry to hear Mike, but its good to hear you are home and beginning your recovery. Seeing as how you've mastered the art of our industry, I have all the faith that you'll quickly learn how to overcome this bump in the road.
We're within a few weeks of the first frost here in PA, if you find yourself in need of a set of hands over the miserable winter I have ahead feel free to ask and once I'm done sweeping the floors maybe I'll learn something. It would be hard to tell my wife I'm going to Florida for a few weeks to camp in my trailer while she enjoys snow with our dog, but I guess I could talk myself into that road trip if I had to ;)
Best wishes for a quick recovery, but remember slow and steady wins the race.
Greg
Dear Mike,
You have so many friends here rooting for you, me included... I'm sending some special prayers up just for you. So please Mike, take good care of yourself and keep us updated when you can.

Hey Mike, never mind the spelling. We can figure it all out. You did a short drive in the lay z boy??? You have one of those motorized recliners? Always wanted one of those to tool around town in ;) Happy to hear you're feeling better! ;D Keep your eye on the goal and take care of yourself. Check in when you can.
June
Take care of yourself Mike and get well soon.
Jim
Don't worry about the spelling Mike. It gives us something to do, like a puzzle :D. Have you put a sewing machine on that Lazy Boy? ;D
Just take your time and get better! And keep posting for us!
Glad you're feeling better Mike. Stick with the intuitive spelling; It keeps people from making fun of mine LOL.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery Mike.
Eric
Take time Mike - and take care.
Best wishes,
-How-
glad you are doing better Mike-wishing you a speedy recovery!
be glad you are in Florida-we've had measurable snow on Mt. Washington already!
Hi Mike, Really sorry to hear about your stroke. Between my mother and working as a bartender with "elderly" people I have experience. Lots of therapy. If you need help I'm in your neighborhood.,
I really hope therepy is working for you, Mike. I enjoy your posts and hope you keep us updated.
Prayers,
Carol
Mike l was shocked to hear of your stroke and hope you take it easy and recover fast. Like me Mike we could standto loose a few pounds.

If you could use a hand around the shop drop me a line...there for ya buddy!
Dave
Dang Mike, I hate to hear that buddy!
I was reading about Chris's motorhome fiasco and saw where you had a stroke. Everything's happened while I've been fighting my dad blum laptop! Just got it back today and trying to catch up on reading some of the posts on the forum.
I had some corrupted files and couldn't even get it to turn on, so I had to have an expert fix it....my fine alignment tool (big hammer) wouldn't git 'er done!
Keep poking at that keyboard, I'm sure it's some good eye/hand coordination therapy.
Good luck and keep us posted!
QuoteKeep poking at that keyboard, I'm sure it's some good eye/hand coordination therapy
I'm sure it is. When Dad had his stroke he had problems with his left hand and leg not wanting do as they were told so he was going 2 hours up the road twice a week for physio. They had him moving marbles from this dish to that dish; first right hand, then left hand. (wax on wax off, paint the fence LOL). He also decided to sell his electrical business so was doing inventory and cleaning out vans etc...He quickly informed them that he would be putting marrettes (wire connectors) etc into boxes instead of their %$## marbles.
I'm certainly not advocating Mike should close up shop. (Dad had been thinking about that for a while anyway.) My point is many everyday activities that we don't even think about are the same as all the fancy "therapy" that we run to the "professionals" for.
actually ive been doing some sewing and watklkng where im surprised.
its talking im having trouble with i thihk faster then i can produce the words.
yalking on the phone or to people xan be frustratung.. asife from that in good,,
RIGHT ON BRO. Your making my typing look bad all ready. :P
Somehow, I knew it wouldn't take you long to get to that sewing machine. Way to go, but take it slow! One day at a time! keep us up to date.

Now that should keep you out of trouble... Most of us, me especially, produce words without having thought :-[
Glad you're getting up and around and doing stuff. It'll all help I'm sure. Like Darren says, "occupational" therapy....
June
Hey Mike, I am glad to hear you are doing better. Keep at it, it's a tough road but it will continue to improve.
Ed
My computer has been down for over a month so I just read about your misfortune. I see that you are feeling better just want to wish you the best.
I already see improvement in your typing, Mike!
The best thing you can do is get back to doing things, familiar things. The "paths" in our brains for familiar things are well worn and strokes are like obstacles on those paths. Going back to familiar trails allows the brain a chance to find a detour and then use it quickly and efficiently to by-pass the obstacle. Repetition is your best friend after a stroke.
Keep grinding away and keep doing what they tell you to do. Esp. when it's hard! You will get there, my friend. Hang tough!
Here's wishing you a speedy recovery, Mike.
Jerry.
Mike
Glad you are doing so well. "Can't keep a good man down"
Boy Mike me and you both having health issues hang in there it does get better we just slow down a little.
