I have a older model truck set, foam needs to be replaced. Does any one know how that is done? Do I need to find pre made ones? where?
I would think a pre-molded poly foam would be your best bet. Where to find? I usually begin with ebay and then once I figure out exactly what it is, you can search other vendors.
Depends:
!. Replacement foam cores (original shape) are not readily available on most older trucks, even if it is -
at a significant expense.
Replacement foam, shaped like factory, if available can be pretty expensive.
Often, I use a foam saw for shaping and professional glue for replacing a smaller area. Works because
usually the part that needs attention is usually the drivers area.
Wrecking yards sometimes has used parts - but not always.
If the truck is a collector's item, maybe you can buy a new formed replacement but if cost is
important - you may or may not want to buy new.
Like I said, I repair a lot of vehicle foam using my foam scroll saw and glue to do repairs.
Good luck and let us know how your experience goes.
