Title: Mohair diamond tufting

Im about to embark on my first diamond tufting job and i will be using mohair. Any tips? How much bigger should i cut my fabric?

It depends on what it is you are tufting and how deep the tufting holes are.

If there is old fabric that you will be taking off, you can use that as a pattern.

There are a few videos on youtube that show how to do tufting. I found them helpful many moons ago.

I've never tufted with mohair.

What have you prepared so far? You say this is a custom build which I take as all new. 3" foam. Do you have the layout done yet? Do you have holes cut in the foam?

Just started the layout before. Just getting it drawn up right now. Havent cut the foam yet.

So when you get the foam all ready measure including into bottom of the holes and add say 10%. Both vertical and horizontal.
