Title: Saw a double needle sewn French Seam...but
Post by: baileyuph on December 03, 2016, 02:45:01 pm
It was sewn with a single bobbin thread - not the usual double bobbin machines.

Anyone familiar with a machine of this feature that would do the french seam this way?

That is, a double needle walking foot, but accomplishes the french seam with a single bobbin thread?

Just wondering (Something I noted this week on OEM auto reproduction leather seats that  had in work).  Always something interesting in this work, no matter the type.

I think I recall a Pfaff twin-needle single-bobbin machine that sewed parallel seams on the top and zig zag on the bottom, but can't find a reference to the machine now.

That is the seam I saw, it was a walking foot type.  I believe, don't know for sure, but may have seen the seam in .........perhaps clothing somewhere.
