Title: Stitching problem
Post by: swilliams74033 on January 09, 2016, 03:55:56 pm
I am working with some marine vinly.  When sewing 2 pieces together, the stitching is fine.  When sewing the welting, the stitches are extremely tight and it eventually binds up.  I thought maybe it was the pressure of the walking foot on the welting, so I loosed it, but that doesn't fix the issue.  I have a Juke LU-562.  Any suggestions of what to try next?

You might look at adjusting the step of the walking foot and the stitch length.

I will give that a try.  I had to walk away for now.  Thank you.

Do that, plus test what happens when different materials are sewn with the same procedure (making welt in the seam.

That test might offer insight as to whether the issue is related to machine or materials.

Plus, might check the welt foot size for the welt being sewn.

Check the lift setting while testing with different materials.

Keep looking, you will probably find the problem.
